Topic: 10dpo spotting & progesterone Posted: 11 January 2011 at 2:31pm |
Hi there,
Does anyone spot in the 2ww?
I start spotting every month at 10dpo whether I'm having a natural cycle or taking clomid.
All my bloods come back normal - I have unexplained infertility.
I've been told that spotting at 10dpo won't inhibit me falling pregnant but I think otherwise because I'm not utd after 12 months.
I have asked my specialist if I can try progesterone pesseries this month.
Has anyone ever tried these and have they worked?
Thx

Hi KOS, I had a short LP of 7ish days on clomid (cycles were MIA without clomid so nothing to compare to) and used progesterone pessaries the month we conceived. Started them, from memory, 24 hours after ovulation (I had a trigger jab so knew fairly well exactly when that was) and used 2 pessaries 3 x a day until I was 7 weeks along. I'm convinced even if we had conceived that month that without the pessaries we would have lost it. I'd definitely be asking the question about using them. Good luck!

KOS, if you look at my charts you will see I spotted during the 2ww as well, it didn't stop me from conceiving. I took low dose aspirin and zinc that I think helped. Good luck.

I spot in 2ww - from ovulation to af. By about 10dpo I can't really tell if my period has started or not.
haven't tried the pessaries, yet.
Last pregnancy the p4 level was over 100 @4weeks, but still spotting. Go figure

I would be asking for pessaries as Ceres suggested. I used these for my 5th clomid cycle after my HSG and conceived. Not sure which of those 3 helped me conceive (the clomid, the HSG or the pessaries) and stay pregnant, but its worth a shot! I also had alot of mid cycle spotting prior to conceiving.
I just asked my FS if I could give them a go and he happily prescribed them, but they cost alot! I stayed on them until nearly 9 weeks pregnant.

Thanks everyone for your words of wisdom. I've decided to give it a shot and I've been prescribed two 3 times a day. Fx it's what I need! Roll on ovulation! Not looking forward to the mess though Will let you know if it works

whats the cost. I think I got info from here that the first trimester would cost about $500 ish for the p4.
How does it work for PIO? Does that cost?

Hi Spanky, I don't understand what you mean by 'p4' and PIO but I've paid $30 for a box and I've been give 4 boxes to use over 2-3 weeks (2 pesseries 3 times a day). I bought it directly from FA.
Hope this helps.

P4 is progesterone
PIO is progesterone in oil, the injections. Either these or pessaries are commonly used I think.
How many pessaries in a box? Sounds expensive (but thinking of the end result, gotta be worth it!)
Cost of liners will bump it up too!

Hiya,
Spanky, a box of Ultragestan has 30 pesseries for $30.
Emma, Have you had the blood tests that are indicators of Endo? I can get the names of them if you don't know. I've just started spotting 6 months ago. 18 months ago I had my DS and I never had spotting before then. My bt's are all normal so I'm hoping it's not Endo I've recently developed. The Nurse at FA said the pesseries should stop the spotting. I see my Specialist next Tues so will let you know what happens. He's also mentioned IUI at my last appt. Fx, pesseries are all I need!

Just to let you know and anyone else who comes across this thread and wonders if Progesterone support (Utrogestan) stops spotting in the tww... yes it does!
I'm 17dpo today but got a bfn this morning but at least the pessaries have worked. I guess it's time to stop using them and start planning my next cycle.
