    Posted: 20 February 2011 at 10:14pm
Hey guys, I've been trying to google when you should expect your first period after CS, but it's not much help. And I know everyone's different. But just wondered when I should be expecting it. My DD is bottle feed (and 10 weeks old), so I know it will be different to BF mums.

So when did you guys get yours?

Thanks :)

It varies and doesn't always matter whether you are bf or not. I was bf and got it back at 2 mos, then skipped 3 mos, then at 4mos onwards.

I'm not sure if a c-sect makes a difference. For me it was between 9 & 18mths after that I ov'd, no period though as I got pregnant each time. Ds was only bf for 3wks & I didn't ovulate til he was around 15mths old, but with dd2y who was fully bf I ov at 4mths (mc). It depends on how regular you normally are, how much weight you gained during preg (more=slower period apparently), too many variables. Ask a close female relative if possible- that'd probably give you a better idea.

1st c-section it came back at 9 wks (twins were bottle fed EMB and formula at that stage....stopped BF'ing at 5wks)
2nd time (fully BF'ing) he was 7 mths.
3rd time (fully BF'ing) she was 4 mths
And they have been normal/regular for me....infact I have had less period pain since being preg!! Although I will say the first one was always very heavy.

Ds1 was 9 months old and i was BF but had stopped over night and it came back.
Ds2 was 9.5 months old and had stopped BF altogether, it came back 3 weeks after stopping Bf.
Both times no pain but heavier.
Everyones so different ah!
also both were electives.
