Sleepless nights

my babys a month on saturday and im a bit annoyed.he slept 8 hours 4 2 nights and now is waking atleast every 4 hours again.ne 1 got any ideas to make him sleep bettter???

at that age you really just have to make the most of the goodnights as it is near impossible to influence a newborn's sleeping habits. with time it'll get better

welcome to the club, my girl is 7 months and still wakes every 4 hours, somethimes every three.

yeah tru i guess,i jus need to try get some sleep during the day.It doesnt help hes a big piggy.he was born 7.6 and is now over 10 pounds.thanx 4 every1s help

Well done lizzle! Bet you are glad to be able to get a decent stretch of sleep.

I got Han back to sleeping through the night for about a week and now she is waking about 2.30am and won't go back to sleep unless she is in my bed Having huge dramas with day sleeps as well as she won't sleep at creche.

Today I made a break through when I found the Safety-sleep I have had in the cupboard since she was born. Now that the little bugger can stand up in her cot she won't go to sleep. But if she is tied down then she eventually drifts off! yay!

Tami - Great weight gain! He must be drinking a lot. Babies often wake more for feeds when they are having growth spurts too. But he sounds like a great sleeper, so you might find that he will be sleeping through the night soon enough... you never know with babies!

thank you nikki. but can't take any credit. while we were thinking about waht we would do about our demon child sleeper, he started sleeping through with no intereference from me. i hope toilet training is the same....

oh that does happen! Unfortunately they are not usually toilet trained. And they usually start to decide they dont want to wear a nappy anymore at their sleep time. So pee in bed greeeaaaatt.

My son started to sleep through at six weeks but I was told by doctors this was cause he grew so fast (he wasn't even in the 100th percentile on growth charts he was off the page and now at 3 he is as big as a six or seven year old)so with sleep I was very lucky but learned quickly that routines never stay around and are allways changing ie whilst experiencing growth spurts blah blah. When he did have awake times (weeks)there was generaly some sleep on the horizon further down the track. If you get down about (hard not to) baby picks up on this and is reflected in thier behaviour. One trick I learned for the older baby only was offer them water and they soon work out the reward isn't worth the tears. But I wouldn't start that one until ast least three - four months of age, babies younger than that cry cause they need the food for growth.

Atually lewis has been seen approaching him with duct tape,. I said NO!!

Lizzle we had to use masking tape for both our boys it owrks a treat. Just end it at the back cause it doesn't take them long to work it out.

Tami I feel for you, my first son was like that. I ended up having sleeps from 6-00pm to 11-00pm and mum looked after him, then I would be up untill 5-00am, they do get better so hang in there.
