I know how hard it is not to have life completely revolve round getting pregnant and getting that well overdue bundle of joy, but my resolution this year is to try not to put my entire life on hold while we undergo this journey as I can't predict how long this journey is going to take.

For the laat 2 years it has felt like everything is hindering on results day and work, friendships and my health have suffered as a result of my conception obsession, so I took the first step and got 2 gorgeous burmese kittens to replace my cat who got put down before Xmas. Although kittens and pregnancy don't mix that well, they are already giving me so much joy and laughter and will be a fantastic distraction in the TWW. I have also joined WW and am trying to go to the gym more to try and get healthier and also get rid of some of the drug weight and get back to a weight I was happy with before this all started, so at least if we aren't successful this time, I will feel happier about myself - 2kg down, 6kg to go.

Has anyone else got any in the meantime goals?

Buying a house! Our offer should go unconditional early next week. I'm not too sure if it's stupid or not, but settlement is the 20th Feb. EC is the week of 13 Feb! At least my TWW will be consumed with unpacking. Light duties of course, no heavy lifting! But if it doesn't work this time around, it gives us more time to get the house to exactly where we want it before any bub comes along.

That's a really exciting life in the meantime :) Good luck and let us know if you go unconditional. Plus moving sounds like the perfect timing to get out of the hard work and will give you a fantastic distraction for the TWW. I have my next IUI tomorrow so my TWW will be consumed by kitten time. Fingers crossed for your house and EC.

while i was waiting i decided that I needed a job that would make me really happy - so I quite my very well paid job and gave back the company car and returned to uni to study for my bachelor of teaching early childhood - have now finished 2 out of 3 years and have my wonderful daughter now as well - it really gave me something else to concentrate on (as well as lots of little children hugs)

Hey Georgiegirl, let us know the project when you find it.

My kittens are proving a fantastic distraction in my 2WW, they are absolutely mad :)

great post buttonz!

Choco I did the same as you, moved back from the UK bought a cheaper house and went back to uni to do bachelor of teaching primary, I too now have my last year to go an it must be lucky cos our third IVF worked and I'm expecting our bub in the midsemester break!

I put my life on hold waiting for a baby for 5 long years and it is such a horrible dark whole to be in. Doing something for me was a godsend, yes not always easy studying and going through IVF was hard sometimes especially when things didnt work but I highly recommend it.

Choco, how did you find studying with a newborn? Did you take any time off from study?

Congrats typical_kiwi. Very exciting news and what a fantastic distraction! Good luck for the move and hopefully it won't be long til you get to decorate a nursery :)

lsttcdiver - huge congratulations to you too! And what perfect timing that your bundle of joy comes during mid-semester break.

Sag not long to go now, hope you are feeling organised and relaxed so you can enjoy the lead up to the big day.

I'm hoping my weigh in will be good tomorrow, it's been a week since I stopped injections and I definitely feel better and a lot less bloated - dumb drug weight, hopefully it will all be worth it.

lsttcdiver - congrats on your pregnancy - and yes studying and pregnancy and then motherhood is challenging. In my last trimester I was lucky in that I had dropped to 2 papers for the semester so was only going to classes 1 day per week, baby was born just before semester break so only didn't go for 2 classes and returned to class when she was 4 weeks old (I took her with me). The biggest problem was that my brain wouldn't retain anything that I tried to learn after she was born which was part nappy brain part sleep deprivation! This year I am doing part-time as I don't think I am ready to manage a full work load, so effectively having a baby has put another year on my degree however she is well and truly worth it!

I found the best way to till my last TWW till my first round of IVF.... DH and I have just spent the last week on holiday rekindling our lost love of Tramping... We Climbed Mt Pirongia and tramped the redwoods and Blue Lake in Rotorua. DH is climbing tongariro today but I thought I'd better stay home today as AF was due yesterday.

How is everyone doing with their projects?

Unfortunately there has been a bit of emotional eating from me in the last week after another BFN, so back on the bandwagon tomorrow. I have been quite good at going to the gym though and getting in a bit of a routine, so that will help a lot when I get the eating sorted. No treatment for us this month so no drugs to blame any weight gain on :)

I am also starting adult ballet and jazz this week for something different and an italian cooking course from the 15th so I have lots of distractions and some new skills at the end of it :) I am also doing a lot of projects around the house and just trying to keep really busy, especailly since I think we will be in for a long wait - guessing IVF is the next step for us, find out Friday.

Plus the kittens are super gorgeous and keeping me very entertained - so glad I didn't put that off!

Any updates from anyone else?

Georgiegirl, good luck with this round, when is your BT? How are you feeling, besides exhausted from all that tramping!
