Any home-made puree recipes please! I've been experimenting and just trying to find a mix of veges that bub will love... please share any favourites.

potato on its own was never a hit... but the sweet veges like carrots were always a hit.

I'll have to go out and get some pears! Does anyone put meat into their purees or is it not a good idea?

I think it is recommended to start with chicken. Have a look in the thriving under 5 book or ask plunket they have a hand out of when to introduce what but I think meat was fine after 6 months.

Kryssi loved roast lamb pureed with her veges. In fact she wouldn't eat anything without meat in it, even at that age

I got a great meat puree recipe off my Plunket nurse.
400 Grams Lean mince
1 Kumara
1 Apple
1 Cup water
Brown mince then place in a pot with peeled cubed kumura and apple. Simmer for 20-30 minutes then cool and puree.
My daughter loves this. I freeze it into cubes and then give her this plus veges every day for lunch.

I have this Women's Weekly "Fresh Food for Babies and Toddlers". It looks awesome. They have some neat ideas for 6-8 months, so I will share a few. If you try any, let me know how you get on.
- Carrot and Brocolli
Combine 2 tablespoons of pureed carrot with 1 tablespoon of pureed brocolli.
- Kumera and Squash
Combine 2 tablespoons of pureed kumera with 1 tablespoon of pureed squash.
- Potato and Pumpkin
Combine 2 tablespoons of pureed potato with 1 tablespoon of pureed pumpkin.
- Potato and Spinach
Combine 2 tablespoons of pureed potato with 1 tablespoon of pureed spinach.
- Carrot and Spinach
Combine 2 tablespoons of pureed potato with 1 tablespoon of pureed spinach.
- Apple and Avocado
Combine 2 tablespoons of pureed apple with 1 tablespoon of pureed avocado.
Also this one looks awesome:
- Chicken, Zucchini and Parsnip Puree
(Prep Time 10 mins, cooking time 20 mins, makes 2 cups)
- 1 single chicken breast fillet (170g), chopped coarsly
- 2 small zucchini (180g), chopped coarsly
- 1 small parsnip (120g), chopped coarsly
- 1 1/4 cups (310ml) water
Place ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Boil, uncovered, until vegetables soften and chicken is cooked through.
Blend or process mixture until smooth.
Great for freezing.
