    Posted: 26 November 2007 at 6:38pm
It's coming up to summer, and we've had some really nice days here lately which means it's bare legs time! I have found I have really bad dry, dead skin around my knees. Fake tan just STICKS to those areas.

Can anyone recommend a really good exfoliator to use? Ideally, it would be a really 'heavy duty' one/one that really works as I've already tried a loofah with a Body Shop exfoliator, but it's not enough for those really dry areas and would like to try something a bit more coarse.

TIA!

I use sugar mixed with a body soap - or salt. that really does the trick well and is cheap as chips too.

Oh yeah. Didn't think of that! I'll give it a go. Does it not dissolve?

Body shop sella gorgeous body scrub mango scented - although, doesn't really seem too harsh. If you're looking for a good exfoliator i always use st ives apricot scrub on my face and you can get the body wash with exfoliants in it too for about $7 - although with using fake tan i usually will use some of the face scrub on my legs a few times just to make sure they're nice and smoooooth

it does dissolve, but not for ages and ages. usually in warm water the stuff will dissolve quickly but not in cold - or lukewarm

There's one you used to be able to get through the bodyshop called Spa Wisdom - it is different to the normal bodyshop range in that it's much more granular and more heavy duty. You can get them to demo it for you if you think it might be an option. (of course that's if they still do it)

Lush do a body butter bar called you snap the whip and it is a really really good one. They also do one called Buffy the backside slayer and thats a really good one for butt and thighs. I can get you 50% off if you are keen to try...

I have contacts

I love both of those products and used them both in my pre-wedding prep and they were great.

Well, tell your contacts they're awesome! I'd love to try those out. Let me know the costs involved. Thank you!!

I'm going to try the salt/sugar thing also. Thanks for the tip!

I'm in LOVE with Natio's 'POLISH'... It's made with walnut shell so it really gets in there and does the job with excellent results.

I'd definately recommend that. I use it before tanning and every time I get perfect results... And I'm notorious for getting so EXTREMELY dry and scaly it's not funny.
