 Topic: Gah! Allergies suck!

Well we knew it could be coming at any stage but still, allergies suck! Charlotte has a pretty high (rast 8 out of 12) dustmite allergy and we had been warned that she could quite likely develop asthma because of it. She has always got a bit wheezy with colds etc but it seems to dissapear when she gets better. With her cold at the moment she was starting to really struggle for breathe at night so she had been put on a brown and blue puffer thingy, hopefully just short term until the virus goes. I have just taken her back to the Dr and shes going to have to be on the preventer long term  Blimmin sucks!!
Aaand to top it off shes allergic to the virus so is coming out in hives all over her body so shes on antihistamine for that too. Urgh I hate her having to be on all these meds and the thought of having to pump steroids into her every day for the unforeseen future just totally p*sses me off/upsets me

Big hugs Jen I feel your pain as Alize was put on the preventer at 10mths old and has been on it since. The upside is that he hasnt had an asthma attack while being on the inhaler. Best of luck for CHarlotte hun. Have they said if and when they will trial her off it?? Alize is haivng a trial off the beclazone at the end of Feb and I cant wait.

yep count me in james has been on inhalers since he was 6 months unforturely it runs in both families as does exama it relly does sux espilly when both the asmtha and exama flare up at the same time big hugs hunn remeber we gotta do whats right by our kids and we are doing a great job

Aw babies on inhalers! Poor bubbas At least shes a bit older so thinks its kind of cool playing with the plastic mask thing. Good luck with Alizes trial- would be fab if you could cut it down or even cut it out!
He didn't mention a trial- I got the impression it was a for the foreseeable future kind of thing I have to take her back in 3 weeks so maybe he'll mention something then.
No eczema for her thankfully- mine is though! Its triggered by stress and have flared up hugely since the Drs visit

Aww Jen that sucks your eczema is playing up too. They decided to trial him in the warmer weather to see if he stil needs it as he was really young when they put him on it. He was having asthma attacks every other week but has really improved. I hope Charlotte response well to her inhaler and great that she likes to take it. Alize is use to it now but there have been times when it was a real struggle
I hope your eczema eases for you soon!

Do you guys know what is causing theirs? We knew she might get it and knew that it would be the dustmite allergy that would do it so there are things we did/are doing to help minimise them e.g. dustmite covers on everything, hot washing etc. We also definitely can't get a little dog now as she allergic to dog hair and the specialist said that would make it worse So gutted I don't really know alot about other triggers because I've only really looked into it from an allergy POV.

Urgh my eczema is rotten- I've flared up everywhere! My eyelids, my thumb, elbows and knees Its really red and raised! Need to calm down about it all but thats easier said than done!

Hey there, just read through the messages. Thankfully my DD is healthy (apart from the reflux) and I am very thankful, but I want to give you big huggs!!!
I can't imagine how hard it must be for you all but I think you are all great so huge

I am thinking Alizes was his allergy to cow milk but that hasnt been confirmed so pass. I guess I wont know till he is trialed with no preventer and no dairy in his diet to see if it comes back. I havent even looked into dustmites and things like that but then again it could be anything.
Big hugs chick for that awful eczema flaring up, have you got some good cream for it? I hear ya about easy to say than do when it comes to destressing esp with sick bubbas

i,ve been told it could be dust mites or milk or cats/hayfever no seems to know relly and i have tried to find a cause but so far i relly cant find one and its sooo annoying
