Toilet training problems....Help??

Has anyone had problems with number 2's training their child?

My DD is 3 and has been wee trained since 2 1/2 and is quite happy to take herself off to the toilet for a wee but we have only had a few weeks of number 2 success's?
She holds on to poo's and used to do this until night time when she would have a night nappy on. Now she continuously squeezes her bottom cheeks but will have lots of accidents in her knickers (can be up to 7 pairs of knickers a day). I dont get cross with her and just say nothing and clean and change her. We have tried sticker charts and rewards of sweets etc once there is a poo on the potty. I try to catch her on her strain of holding it in and put her straight on the potty and very occasionally she will do a decent sized poo then we go mad on the praise etc. She is not happy about sitting on the toliet but will sit for a decent period of time on a potty. I try to give her plenty of time without any knickers/trousers etc on to make it easier for her. I feel a bit of a failure on this as she picks up everything else we teach her so quickly. I ask her regulary if she need to use the potty but her response to us is that "Its OK mummy I do it in my knickers!"

Where am I going wrong?
Will I ever get her poo trained?

I really would appreciate any suggestions as I really dont know what to do now?

We had some problem with Harry but we did two things. No going to McDonalds until he did Poos on the Loo and he got to go to Toyworld and pick a present (we had to agree what it was). It took some time but everytime he did poo's in his pants we just say 'oh well, no going to McDonalds yet' and I think it eventful worked (just as well because I was hanging out for a burger!)

We had that trouble with Hannah and for a while even though she was completely TT during the day (even day sleeps) she would poo in her nappy every night and got a horrible rash cause she wasn't used to it anymore. She was 3 - 3 1/2 during that time. We just had to totally relax on it and not give her a hard time (or show our frustration) AT ALL. It probably took a month or two, I can't quite remember. But basically she just took a bit more time to be able to relax properly for the required length of time. Hang in there

Hi, my now 3.5yr old boy was the same and we had trouble with him holding on so much he would become constipated and it hurt for him. We started training him 1 mth before his 3rd birthday and he was "wee" trained within weeks. After this we spent many frustrated months cleaning/soaking undies and having no sucess
What worked for us - we used sticker charts with treats at certain intervals in the chart, we used "toliet fairy" and would pretend to ring her and tell her he had done poo's. We also took a step back and for a couple of months even taught him to ask for a nappy for number 2's. This worked wonderfully but I did not want to do this forever. Once he was comfortable with this we progressed over a few weeks to "talking" him into trying the toilet. He now takes himself off for both 1's and 2's but has been a long 6mths! My advice is to be patient, no pressure, make it as stressfree as poss for them. Good luck!

We have had some success's this week but not on everyday so I think that we will get there eventually im sure. She will at least sit on the potty from time to time at the moment.
