HIVES

Oh you poor things. You dont need to do anything about the hives as such, unless they are extremely itchy and dont go away, or get worse. Keeping the area cool, or if real bad use cold flannels to cool the area, and u can use calamine lotion too.

But if u have no idea what he reacted to, and with the wheeziness, sounds like he should be getting some sort of allergy testing done to work out whats going on. I would be going back to GP til I got answers!

Yeah I would if u can. Its not good not knowing whats going on with him,,...u wont know what to avoid cos u dont know what cuased it,..and the breathing issues arent good at all. Good luck!

It must be so frustrating to not have any real answers yet..I hope you can get some clarification soon. If the doc is happy to do allergy test earlier then why not? If you're gonna do it later anyway..

I used to get hives when I ate too much of certain types of fruit when I was younger (although, also had asthma so wheezing was always there). I remember having phenergan quite often as a child whenever there were hives and allergy related symptoms..

have you taken him to a new environment lately? like a different park or something?

charli has never had any problems with allergies apart from 'asthma' mostly when she has a cold but DH took her to a park one afternoon and the next day, her cheeks were bright red like sunburn and she had red splotches all over her body. dr's said it was hives and gave her a syringe of something (can't remember what it was called) and the redness went away the next day.

poor boy coming and asking for his puffer but good in a way as you don't have to fight him to take it. jack has asthma (gets it from me and my family) and it's abit of a mission to get him to breathe into the spacer

HAnnah gets random hives all the time too - tonight she had a few on her face and I have no idea what they were from.

Ok so 10 minutes and $100 later! Phew I am in the wrong profession!

We are heading down the asthma track. I walked away feeling better about it all. He says his sleep is due to his chest/flem(sp?) and coughing.

We have Ventalin now and are to give it to him every time he coughs...although he has informed me it is a stimulant....like we need any help there.
If it helps we are to go back and he will help us with preventing further.
We also go back in August to have all allergies tested again.

I wonder if he will wait till we do the testing in August? Not sure to be honest.

hhmmmm didn't think of that! I am useless at remembering things too. Thank you, might take note of how often he needs the huffer too! That way the paed will see we are serious about sorting our wee fella out too

Maybe that is why you get somewhere with it all.

I have taken note of the last 2 days and am sticking to his strict diet....lets see how long it lasts
Oh my gosh this ventalin sure is a stimulant, I asked him last night where my handsome little man had gone and his reply "gone MUM" argh no more mummy either
