OMG, we just get one sorted then the other goes downhill again. Hannah spent Wed night at mum and dads, came home at lunchtime yesterday with hives (mum thought they were itchy bites!) probably from mum baking with eggs then touching Hannah. Anyway they went away once I gave her antihistamine etc. Then she was saying her ear is squawking so trip to docs and she has her first ear infection (this was after taking Greer for her injections in the morning). Got given a script for Amoxycillin. I asked for her to have the first dose at the docs as she has never had antibiotics before. So she had it and was fine. I decided to wait to give second dose til this morning just in case, and lucky cos she broke out in hives. So back to the docs this morning, tried another antibiotic and immediate hives again! So I decided to just leave her ear for now as she isnt complaining about it anymore, and just keep an eye on it which the doc is happy with - I think he was too scared to try her with anything else anyway. Feel like I have lived at the surgery for the last few weeks.
Just needed to have a moan.

I think its just a general drug allergy to penicillin and whatever type the other was. I am allergic to sulfa antibiotics, but nothing else.

Hugs Aimee - when it rains it pours for you huh?! Hope Hannah's ear is better Yay for you getting her to 2 1/2 without needing antibiotics tho!
Maya has sulfa anaphalaxis but is fine with penicillin even tho I am allergic to it. Random child!

oh how STINK! Are you angry about the hives from the visit to Nana's? Ugh, sometimes those horrible allergy stickers to go on their clothing almost look like a good idea even! That's all pretty sucky, Aimee

They have allergy stickers Man, I am sheltered!
Not sure I could inflict that on my kid tho, it's kind of like saying "beat me up, I'm a geek!"

I'll say. Given that we're a gingery kind of breed in my house I won't be making school any tougher on Ella by making her wear those too! Ha ha.
Ah, Aimee. Vent to your heart's content on Thurs. You know we'll all 'get it' and feel p*ssed off for you about it too.

I mock the red, but truth be told I adore Ella's hair and don't even mind mine (though you wouldn't know under the sea of brunette dye these days). But every good ginga has to be able to laugh at themselves. It's a special skill we pick up when half the school laughs at us! Ha ha.
Sorry for the threadjack Aimee!
Rant away. BTW - I'm so impressed that Hannah's gone this long without any antibiotics. you go, girl! I had no idea it could even be done!

Poor Hannah!!
Most ear infections clear by themselves so I hope it's a case of getting through the worst of it. Can she take nurofen or anything or does that cause hives too?
Much love to ya Aimee. Must be hard when they tag team with the sick thing!
