Ok, so a workmate made a comment today and i am now wondering if this has something to do with my problem a little.

Yes fair enough it's probably stemming from grief etc, but it seems to be pretty bad with anxiety etc about 5 days post Af, Even with the meds, i notice the rest of the month is fine apart from the week after Af up till about Ov - so probably back when hormones do a change around again. I am seriously wondering if this has something to do with it.. ie hormonal imbalance since the M/c as my Af was already doing stupid things just before that.

Anyway back on track - my workmate was talking about Vitamin D etc, and it's relation to modd, and i realised that probably, shift work would have alot to do with that, and also wher ei work - that only has 1 set of windows to theoutside wrold, and even they are mirrored and blackened.   I am constantly in darkened rooms, I start work in the monring before the sun comes up, I leave work in the afternoons when the peak of the sun is gone and these days sometimes it's even beginning to get dark. Or, I have to sleep the day away to catch up, go to work in the afternoon and leave when dark, or go to work near midnight and still leave work before the sun comes up.      I really don't get much time in between for sun.                   

Has anyone else who works shift work found this? does it affect your Vitamin D levels? and did you find it affecting your mood?

I think i need more sun.

I find working shifts during the winter drives you crazy, I have spent many years working in windowless dialysis units, through British winters when it can stay dark til 8.30 am and starts getting dark again at 3pm. I have never taken vit d supplements tho, i never really thought about it. But anything is worth a try isn't it.?
They talk about Seasonal Affective Disortder alot in UK, where you crave UV light and it can lead to depression during winter months. I know you can get natural UV light bulbs, and you literally sit next to it for an hour or so, it's a recognised therapy for SAD, might be worth googling and see what it comes up with.

But yep shift work is hard, especially in the greyer months of winter (so glad i am off that particular road now)

Its hard to tell,..because it could totally be the nature of nursing = stressful job! I used to find a walk on my breaks helped!

On the hormone imbalance thing,...I went to a naturopath after I had an allergic reaction to the third antidepressant I was on and had to stop meds cold turkey. After a full assessment he reakoned most of my prob was hormonal imbalance,...that has been now corrected with cream and tabs and Im still doing well,...when the anti-d's werent doing much at all.

thyats what i was wondering Kels.. I remember you saying that.. cos yeah, even before meds, and still now, I just all of a sudden have a couple of days where i am antsy and anxious for no apparent reason, then it goes as quick as it started... seriously has be wondering since theres that pattern to it that coincides with a few days post AF.
