Topic: weightwatchers question Posted: 10 April 2012 at 4:27pm |
I am looking at joining weightwatchers and going to the meetings.....I belonged YEARS ago, and I know every week they gave you a new little book at the meetings, then you brought the cookbooks if you wanted them.
Do you still get the little books? Or do you have to buy those as well now?

I joined WW about 13 weeks ago - the current system is pro points, and there are books that you get free about exercise, healthy and filling food days, easy start guide, etc. They also give you a 32 week book when you start to record your weight loss.
On top of that I have bought four cook books (which are all full of amazing recipes, I don't even look at my annabel langbein book anymore) and a eating out guide, calculator, and shopping guide. The latter three give you everything you need to work out the points of almost anything.
I also get a 12 week tracker (about to start a new one) but if you want to track without paying then you can get the tracker sheets in meeting that are just an A4 sheet with a tracker on it.

monkeys have you decided about going back to WW yet?
Mintyfresh are you enjoying it?
I keep fighting with myself over joining again. Did go a couple of yrs a go for a few weeks & it set me up to lose 24kg that yr but then the next yr (last yr) I put it nearly all back on, so I am trying to re-lose it now grrr.
there is a free 2 week trial with WW online the code is 4-16-2401-7717 you need to cancel it prior to the 2 weeks being up or you will be billed, they do refund it.

Sort of... But I would need the meetings I didn't really do well online only. It's quite expensive and then you have to buy everything (well I would) so would need to make it wirthwhile!

I have done a bit of a costing of.
If I do it I would want to do it for 12 weeks (at least)
$240 (@ $20 meeting)
$50 starter pack
I did want the scales & a few other things but no rush.
So really just $20 a week & I would go to one during the day while ids at school so would have to travel for that.

I would love to go back to meetings, but can't justify the cost.... Or maybe it's more the fact that I've gained lots since I was last there! Not that anyone would remember me I don't think lol.

Can I just say I love Weight watchers and it really works, the cost is up there but if you do it properly then it's really worth it. I only ever got the beginner pack with the calculator and eating out guides.

It took me from February to just before December to get to goal. I think on average I lost about 750gms a week, some weeks were more than others but it averaged out.

It really does work! I lost 50kgs before having kids in just over a year doing WW and never struggled or felt like I was missing out!
Joined again last year and have lost just over 10kgs but feel myself struggling now after a health scare and with starting homeschooling my daughter. Need a good kick up the backside!
Limochick you are a total inspiration
