Thanks skiltz!

How's everyone doing now? Mumma2be - Sorry I can't give any advice on what to do after clomid for your short luteal phase. I hope someone can help you out with some info there.
Kerny - how's this month going since the HSG?
Soda - hope you're settling in to your new home now. Will keep my fingers crossed that all the distractions have had a positive effect.

No news with me. I'm unmonitored this cycle. Will have day 21 bloods but no scans etc as I wanted to have a break from it all. Trying to decide whether to try IUI next month. We're still quite busy with unpacking etc (yes, we have bought this place Kerny so it's pretty exciting). We also pick up puppy on Friday. In fact, we've decided to take one of her litter-mates too so we'll have two! Can't wait!

Good luck this month ladies :-)

oh i was wondering where this thread went! hi all! Thistle yay for a new house! nothing like owning your own home Smile we are settled now but still a bit of a mess in the spare room..but i just close the door and walk away lol. will get onto it eventually. itll be babys room once we have number 2, so itll be unpacked eventually lol. and ohhh a puppy! what kind do you have?? i have a cat who would hate a dog in the house so we cant get one until she dies which probably wont be for another 10 years knowing her.. love puppies!  who knows? you might get a surprise BFP before you have a chance to do IUI!! hope so! x x Kerny how are you going?
Im around 6dpo now and just waiting waiting waiting to be able to test lol. i only temped the last few days so dont know my exact ov date, but my temps are higher than they have ever been- even with my BFP chart with my DD! so hoping that means the clomid is really doing its thing this cycle Star question- does anyone else have random days while on clomid where you cant help but eat and eat and eat?? i had one of those days yesterday it was shocking..i ate SOOO MUCH!! im back to my old self today but gee whiz it was pretty insane.. thinking it was my crazy post ov hormones? i see on my BFP chart that on 5dpo i had extreme hunger too..and i havent noted that on any other chart.. so hoping its a good sign? i know, you arent meant to have any weird things happen until after implantation so not holding my breath. but it could be connected to my hormone levels perhaps? weird anyways... will keep you posted! :)

Soda - I have a quick and random question for you if that's ok? One of my friends is convinced that she has PCOS as her cycles are all over the place (she's currently on day 42 of this one!) and she has some of the other symptoms. She's just had bloods done to check and the doc says they look fine but we just want to know exactly what they'd expect to see. Can you remember what yours were like when you were diagnosed? Did you have them on a particular CD because obviously she has no idea where she is in her cycle so can't relate the results to anything.
I just thought you might be able to offer some advice/info given what you've been through? Thanks in advance, TF xx

Hi girls! It's been a while - I couldn't find the forum and then I've been in Australia at a conference. Was really good and DH came over for the weekend which was nice. We got home today and I am now really tired.

Since I had my HSG this cycle, I've been so much more relaxed. Had a few drinks over in OZ, been drinking a bit of coffee and not worried as much about taking my temps. It has been nice not to stress about it all. I plan to get back into it all next cycle.

Thistlefern - 2 puppies that is so awesome! Hope you are getting through the unpacking. We are also thinking about IUI. It won't be this cycle coming due to work commitments but possibly the following cycle.   The specialist hasn't really been able to explain how it would help with our issues (which appear to be with implantation and endometrium lining) so we are quite reluctant to spend the money and get our hopes up if it is unlikely to help. I am finding it quite hard to decide what to do. Have you decided for certain?

Soda - glad to hear you are all settled. Awesome about your temps. Got my FX for you.

Great to have you back kerny! Sounds like you've had a lovely relaxing month. It's good to take a break from it all now and again.

We've still not decided about IUI. Things are a bit full-on with the new house and the puppies so we may put it off for a couple of months. Will let you know.
It's interesting that your issue may be with implantation and lining. Why do they think that? Is it because of your spotting? That's the only explanation I can come up with for us struggling too. My circulation is pretty bad and I have some fluid retention in my lower legs so wonder if the blood supply to my uterus and lining is a bit rubbish. I've been going to a massage therapist for a few months to see if we can get things moving and make it all nice down there for a baby :-) It's worth a try! AF has been heavier since I started doing that so surely that's a good sign? Like you, if that is the problem I can't see how IUI would help and it may be a waste of money for us.

Soda - how's the symptom spotting going? Is your ticker correct in saying CD2? I hope not!

TF - to be honest the specialist hasn't really said definitely that is what the issue is but when I raised it with him (and also the acupuncturist) they both agreed that it could be that. I have pretty bad circulation too. And I just read about how sitting down a lot, which I do at work all day, can mean that there is not enough blood flow where it needs to go. That is good about the massage therapist and AF increasing - the same thing happened with me and acupuncture. I think that it is a good sign - it means the lining is building and then shedding properly. I think we are pretty definite about not doing IUI. The specialist has referred us for public funding for some other drug treatment which would cost about $3k to do privately so we might wait for that. I really want to move onto something before Christmas though. I hate feeling like time is just slipping away!

kerny - what does the other drug treatment involve? Is it likely to give you more of a chance than IUI? I know what you mean about time slipping away. It feels like everything takes so long and we just go from cycle to cycle, waiting and waiting (and getting older - I'll be 38 in a few months so time is definitely running out). How long have you been TTC now? (you probably said ages ago and I can't remember)

I had my progesterone BT today and it was 107 so just the same as usual. Nothing changes really. I'm CD22 today so 9 days to wait!

TF - I think the other drugs are injections, I think they are called gonadotropins. My understanding is that they are still used to induce ovulation but I am hoping that the hormones might stop the spotting. We will have been off contraception for 2 years and have been getting treatment for a year. I am a little bit younger (I turn 31 in March). The doctors keeps saying that I am still relatively young but I am worried as being younger it should be easier to get pregnant. I am worried that as time goes on it is going to get harder and harder and our chances will get smaller and smaller.

It is day 1 for me. We weren't really trying last cycle since I had the HSG. We aren't on any drugs or anything this cycle but are going to try to eat healthy, not drink and (most importantly) BD at the right time.

Hope the next 9 days go speedily for you. FX!

Not sure if any of you are still on here.
Kerny - How are things going for you being clomid-free this cycle?
AF arrived for me yesterday and we've decided to stop the clomid too. I'd been on it for 4 months with no luck so thought I'd see how my body copes being off it. We've decided not to go ahead with IUI for now and just wait for IVF early next year. I'll do all the usual stuff of eating healthily, no alcohol, no caffeine and just try to focus on the new house and puppies and see how it goes.
I'm not sure I belong anywhere on this forum now which is quite sad as it's good to chat to people and see how everyone's doing. Maybe it would still be nice to update anyway? Or maybe we should start a general infertility thread for those of us who are just plodding along and not trying anything in particular?
Good luck to you all.

Hope everyone is doing OK xx

I'm officially going to be in here soon - next week I'll start taking the pill to bring on AF later in the month, and then after Labour Weekend I'll start popping! I'm excited to finally be doing something instead of just waiting!

Any tips? I've heard mention that taking it at night lessens any side effects, is there anything else I should know?

ThistleFern - I hung out in here all the time when TTC the first time around and I never popped one clomid pill, it was just a nice place to hang out and chat with others who knew what going through infertility was like.

That would be my big tip Ariel - to take it at night, I had the odd hot flush but that was all. I know what you mean it is great when you get to start doing something proactive rather than just waiting - also are you doing a monitored cycle? If so I find the 2 weeks before OV fly by with popping the pills, then bloods then scan etc - unfortunately though I haven't found a way to make the TWW go quicker!!

Thanks monkeys. I'm only doing a Reviewed Cycle - so just day 21 prog - unless my first cycle doing that shows up anything alarming. I was surprised the Dr didn't want to do a monitored but I guess perhaps 50mg isn't a huge dose?

TF - sorry to hear about AF. It is nice to have a break from the drugs, blood tests and scans for a while but also good to have IVF next year. Hopefully you won't need it though. I think you definitely should keep posting on here even though you aren't on clomid anymore - I plan to, as long as no one minds? I am really happy with this cycle - no spotting before ovulation for the first time in months and months. So stoked - I hope its a good sign.

Welcome Ariel! Yep, I agree definitely take it at night. The only thing I found was that I got a bit emotional - but it is hard to tell if it was the clomid or just TTC in general. Were you taking anything when you got pregnant with your DD?

I think I will hang around here for a little while. It's good to have the support :-)
Monkeys - Good luck with the monitored cycle this month. Sounds like they're doing everything possible to help it stick this time. Sorry about your losses. You're right about the first two weeks going quickly with all the tests and scans (epsecially if you're like me and had to have LH/oestradiol bloods taken every day for a week to check for ov!) The TWW is painfully slow though. Distraction is the key!
Ariel - I think I only had a day 21 test when I started out on 50mg and when that didn't do anything they increased it to 100mg and started doing scans too. I took Clomid during the day and didn't have any side effects at all so I don't really have any tips. If anything I was probably better on it than not so I'm a little bit worried about what this drug-free cycle has in store.
Kerny- Great news about the lack of spotting this month! Hopefully everything is on track now. Good luck!

Kerny - I wasn't taking anything when we got our BFP for our DD - it was a big surprise as we had just been told a couple of weeks earlier that we would need IVF by our public gynae and the week we got our BFP we received our letter for our first appointment with FA.

Thanks ThistleFern - it's good to know that a reviewed cycle is normal, I've heard mostly about fully monitored ones. And yay for hanging around!

I hope the 50mg is enough to get things going properly - at this stage all I really want is to have a nice regular 28 day cycle and know I have ovulated somewhere around day 14. Of course, I'm now all excited (and nervous!) because my next cycle might be the one where we get UTD and I think a BFN will be that much more disappointing.

Ariel - 50mg may be enough for you, especially if you already ovulate on your own and just need it to be a bit more regular. Fingers crossed that you don't have to wait long for that BFP. It is awful when you get your hopes up only to get a BFN. A couple of months ago I had a really good cycle and got what seemed to be implantation bleeding for the first time ever so when AF arrived on time it was even more disappointing that normal.
That's a great story about your DD. Did you do anything differently that month that may have helped?
