Topic: Ovulation Pain ? Clomid Posted: 11 September 2013 at 2:43pm |
Hi Ladies, I'm on my first cycle of Clomid after taking Provera for 7 days to induce menstruation as I havnt been getting a period or ovulating. Currently I'm on CD 16. From CD 12 until CD 15 I had a huge amount of pain down below and on both sides, like crippling pain, I felt heavy and achy and very stabby, would this be ov and have any of you had this before, It seems to have settled right down today tho? Many Thanks
Oh and I havn't had a lot of CM to go by either which I read can happen while taking Clomid

Hey Glag. I'm on my 4th cycle of Clomid, and I get what you are describing, and am having it as we "speak"! It' not crippling pain, but def very noticable. Have had heavy, tightening feeling in my pelvis/uterus for a couple days now, along with the side stabby pains. This is how I have come to know OV is a few days away (always links up with my OPK tests and temps)> Usually eases off for me right before day of OV. How is it for you today? I too experience the disappearance of CM (still have some, but not alot as usual) while on Clomid. Last month I didn't take clomid, and had (sorry TMI) heaps! LOL I use pre-seed when BD - find it helps

Thanks for reply storm, I'm on CD17 now and its really bad still, bordering on crippling. If it was due to me ovulating would it have passed by now? I've had it since CD12

I never get it as bad as it sounds you have it, but it can last a good 4-5 days for me sometimes. Are you charting or anything to know if you have actually OV'd yet? I've just been to see my nurse at FA and told her about the pains I have, as sometimes it hurts if I sit down too hard, and sometimes the pressure (sorry TMI) is a bit too much during intercourse. She didn't seem to concerned about it and just said to mention it to my doctor then next time I see him.
Maybe you can have a chat to your doc about it?

Glag are you with FA? And are they doing your monitored cycles? Maybe when they text/call you with your blood results you can ask them about the pain? Or just give the nurses a call. It sounds pretty painful

I'm just under the local hospital Gynaecologist, who only requested day 21 bloods, I'm really hoping as much as it hurts that it is ov related, will definitely be wanting answers if I haven't oved this month

Hey Glag how's the pains today? I was thinking about this post last night cause my pains, for the first time ever, became soooo sore! I need to put a heat pack on. I don't know that it was from OV but it was like the twinges I had been feeling for the last few days, kicked into overdrive! Also, are you charting? Do you know if you have OV's yet? I had a temp rise today, so OV yesterday, and my pains are pretty much gone!

Yeah I feel a bit bloated today too could just be all the sushi I had for lunch though LOL My cycles on clomid have been 28/29 days. Other than that, I am usually a 33-39 day cycle

Wow that's a good difference between cycle lengths, I don't have anything to compare to for me as had to have provera are you having follow up bloods or scans?

Yeah it's pretty good. My clomid cycles are monitored through FA so I have CD10 bloods and a scan on CD11 or CD12 then I usually have bloods on CD21 to check for OV but as that is technically checking progesterone levels I won't be this cycle because I am taking progesterone pessaries so it's gonna show hig progesterone anyway

Hi. I'm currently on my 1st cycle with clomid and progesterone pessaries. I had acute stabbing pain that lasted about 10 hours which I needed to take paracetamol for the pain on day 14. I'm now day 27 and waiting for AF to arrive. O know I'm not pg this month as Dh count was too low to do an iui but I would normally have got my period by now. Just debating whether to stop taking the pessaries now as they will be holding back my period and I really want it to start so I can start a another cycle. What do you think? I know I'm not as well because I have tested.

Hi Phoofy,
I too am on progesterone pessaries this month and have to have a blood test on 14DPO to check for pregnancy, if neg, then I have to stop the progesterone straight away as my period won't come. Are you with a fertillity specialist that you can call and ask?

Hi ladies, every month that I have taken clomid I too have had pain around O time for about a day. It is hard to describe but I feel like my ovaries are huge and I get achey pains around that area. It is very uncomfortable & all I want to do is just lie down. I mentioned it to my fertility doc and she didn't seem too concerned. I find it kinda useful as at least I am certain when I am ovulating!

Hi Storm...sorry I never got the notification that you had written here! I ended up doing a hpt on day 12 which was negative and I continued with the pessaries until day 13 and started spotting on day 15.
Hi fuzzle.... I had my ovulation pain this morning but it wasn't nearly as painful as last month so I'm second guessing that I ovulated but it would have been about 38 hours post trigger so I'm hoping that I have ovulated otherwise the washed goods would have been wasted.
