Topic: Success with low AMH Posted: 23 January 2014 at 2:07pm |
Hi,
I have an AMH level of 1.4 which is well in the red. I was wondering if there was many ladies out there with pregnancy success stories with low AMH?

Hi Tulip Can't remember what my level was but I also was in the orange/red As my acupuncturist told me it doesn't effect your quality just you quantity and that was probably evident in my IVF round. I only had 5 eggs but 4 fertilised and I had one transferred (on board at the mo) and one frozen

Hi, i cant say i have success but we are working on it i would be very interested in hearing some stories! I have an AMH of less than 0.5 and im only 29 ![](smileys/smiley5.gif) i have had 3 cycles of clomid, trigger injections with no luck and have been advised our next step will have to be a donor egg. Id be keen to hear stories from people in similar circumstances

I also have a low AMH and things took a different turn with us and our IVF, I produced lots of follies but either bad quality or no eggs in the follies. So on to an egg donor for us. My FS did however say that the jury is still out there on the reliability of AMH!

My AMH was 0.56ng/ml a couple of years ago, which put me at the orange/red border for my age. I'm now 28 weeks pregnant, but it took me 4 cycles to get there. I have a friend who's AMH was undetectable. Her twins are now a year old.

Always good to hear positive stories really gives encouragement. We are still going to try naturally for now while awaiting an ED and you never know miracles can happen

Yes we were advised the same that they just still dont know about the AMH test and its not saying you never will conceive naturally. For instance, my sister has an AMH of 1.7 and she fell pregnant first go - so it does happen! We are the same as you LornaMJ trying naturally in the hope it will happen that way but still looking for an egg donor.

Hi Ladies, good to hear there's some success stories out there with low AMH. Pinky have you thought of trying IUI before egg donor? Last year I fell pregnant after an IUI but had an early miscarriage. I tried another IUI last month and found out a few days ago that so far I'm pregnant again. (fingers crossed) When you tried clomid did you have a scan at about 12 days to see what size and how many follies were in there?

Pinkymalinky, we now have a lovely baby boy after 2 years ttc (he is no.2 for us) my AMH wasnt as low as yours but was on the lower end of normal. One thing i found with the specialists is you really need to go in with alot of your own research and ask lots of questions. I would def look into IUI, it may just give the extra helping hand for you guys....we did IUI to increase our chances and also did Ovidrel injections to induce ovulation when follicles were at a prime size. Best of luck, never give up :-)

I am so pleased to be able to share some good news as remember reading these forums and hoping but thinking it was a long shot. We had a little girl with no trouble followed by a missed miscarriage at approx 6 weeks when she was 18 months old. Then tried for 14 months with no success. Tried accupuncture, chinese herbs and clomiphene. Got pregnant on 2nd round of clomiphene but another missed miscarriage at 10 weeks. 6 months later (round 2 of clomiphene) we were pregnant again and I am very pleased to say I am 24 weeks pregnant and all is looking good. Had all the tests imaginable and only issues were low AMH of 1.3 and I was 39 years old. They had said our best chance was IVF. All the very best - it can still happen :)

My partner and I also had struggles with low amh and borderline high FSH. We found out her amh was .86 at 28 years old. We were stunned to say the least. She never struggled with her periods or had an indication that this would be a problem. So, we were very surprised when we received the results. My partner immediately went to the internet to find out what can be done about low amh and borderline FSH. She decided to go on an "egg friendly diet" which included Maca powder and Chia Seeds every day. I don't know if that helped, but it is possible. We did IUI with frozen sperm and had our first cycle medicated with Clomid and HCG trigger shot, since we knew we were fighting an uphill battle. We had 2 follicles. After the IUI she was put on progesterone and had so many pregnancy like symptoms we thought we were pregnant, but soon found out that we were not. We went back to the RE and asked about going on injectables (Menopur) with a trigger shot since we only planned to try 3 IUIs before going to IVF. We did this and had only 1 mature follicle. We went ahead with the IUI although not as optimistic as the first time. We just found out yesterday that we are pregnant!!!

Thank you for so much for your kind words. Unfortunately we have had an early miscarriage. We will go back to the doctor and try again.

Sorry to hear that JamBrown, take comfort that she did fall pregnant even with low AMH and there's no reason why it can't happen again.

Thank you so much. That is our hope. We have to wait through the holidays to try again, but we do plan to try again and are hopefully for success.

I have a low AMH 0.6 got pregnant naturally three times. I took CoEnzyme Q10, vitamin D,and Elevit before TTC. The Vit D & CoQ10 are good at improving you egg quality. But you should stop the CoQ10 when you get a bfp

Hi Tinkerbella, I recently had my AMH re-tested and it's dropped to 0.7 now so very keen to try your suggestions. Is CoQ10 available from pharmacies?

Hello, I am new here and I know this is an old post. I am 39 and have recently been diagnosed with low amh 1.3 We have just completed our first round of IVF which they wanted to cancel due to my poor ovarian response. We insisted on keeping going. Got 4 eggs, 3 embryos. 2 grew beautifully but none made the grade to freeze but we had a blastocyst. This is where it gets slightly complicated as my partner isn't quite ready for children so we did a freeze all cycle. He wants kids just not now. Feeling really disheartened. Can anyone recommend their doctor or any advice on how to make the next IVF cycle more successful. Thank you.
