Hi all,
So i have just found out im pregnant with #2 and all i can think about is whether to elect or not. My son was born by emergency sec in chch womans after being found breech at 10cms.
Im so scared of it happening again and even though ive been assured by my MW that they will scan at 36wks and moniter throughout labour im working myself up so much.
Im really thinking that another c-sec is the right path for me.
Its very early days (only 6wks preg) but this is on my mind more than 'yay im preg"
anywho, what im wanting to know is:
Is there a cost involved if i elect?
do i have to plead my case and will they try to talk me into a VBAC or will my wishes be taken seriously?
just really wanting to hear others' experiences.

I had an elective c-section at Waikato hospital after an emergency c-section with my first. I was adamant that it what I wanted from the start. I saw the obstetrician at the hospital at about 30 weeks & discussed it with her & she did try to talk me into a VBAC but then said I only had a 30% chance of success. I told her I felt very anxious & panicked at the thought of a VBAC & so she said it was fine for me to book an elective c-section. They booked the date in that day. The elective c-section went really well & was actually quite healing for me after my traumatic first birth. I'm about to have my third baby in 2 days in Australia & it's elective c-section too. Good luck!
