Topic: Bobux mercot bodysuits Posted: 31 July 2009 at 4:57pm |
I was handed down a couple of these for my bub which I found fabulous, but they had the tags cut out - so I don't know if they were NB or 000.
I want to buy the next size up online, but don't want to be caught out. (as I was when buying dimples ones, I was sold two '3month' told it was 3-6months, and after I washed it found that it was really only 0-3.) grrr!
Can others share their thoughts on whether the sizing of these suits are generous or not? I have a (small) 10 week old, I'm thinking the 00 is the way to go, unless everyone tells me that they are really generous and won't fit her till she is 6 months which will be summer.
(does anyone else get a bit frustrated by the inconsistant sizing of some of these premium brands?)
Thanks!

*Lou - are you in Auckland? They have a factory shop out in East Tamaki that is really good and has great discounts.

i have found that they are quite generous and fitted for longer than most other brands. I them and have used them more than any other body suit for my girls. So much nicer than the regular wool ones with seem really itchy.

Not in Auckland unfortunately! I have been to their outlet shop once - they had everything on sale except for the mercot!

Can you measure the width of it from under each arm? I presume the long sleeved tops will be the same width. I have the 9 month body suit if you want measurements but it's huge on my long baby.

I'm not sure that they would be the same.
I have found them really inconsistent between styles. I had a mercino bodysuit which was '3 months' but she was too long in the body for it at 3 weeks! She still fits (just) the mercot bodysuits which must be either NB or 000 (I had assumed 000 as it still fits her), and this morning I put her in a 'skivy' mercot body suit which is 000 and it is massive on her - more like a 00 in my estimate.
Can anyone tell me if their 000 is usually more like a 00 for the longsleeved (non skivy) body suits?
I just want to get some that fit!
I thought I would ask for everyones opinions before ringing them...

hi,
i found bobux sizing is way out, dosent fit very nice at all. i have never had any problem with the dimples ones,if anything it is very generous sizing, my daughter whis coming up two is still in dimples 12mths and some 18mth items. i found the wool cotton in dimples was slightly slimmer fits so went next size up to get more wear and the merino are really good, found you did need to wash it on a wool cycle in your washing machine and lay it out flat to d in the shade and they kept there sizing nicely.
