Topic: Wind Pain and stuff Posted: 10 September 2009 at 6:55am |
Just wondering if anyone else suffered from wind pain for weeks after their section?
Had my C Section 2 weeks ago today, to start with I had diarreah and trapped wind etc, got rid of that and also figured out it was the pamol making me run to the loo, so stopped taking it, then I went the oppersite and got a bit constipated, but now I can go toilet ok, I just get horrible wind pain in my tummy a lot, Ive been taking mylanta and trying to eat things that dont cause wind.
Its so horrible, I just want to feel normal again C Sections suck!

Oh having wind hurt so bad! It hurt the most just before I farted, when the wind was down low. Nothing helped. I got told by my MW to "just let it slip out" but nothing made any difference to my comfort level. It did come right after a while, so big hugs for you Shezza, I know what you're going through, just a little bit longer and you'll be back to normal!

I get that too flutterby, it hurts when its about to come out, when its down low.
Bizzy, nah I had afterpains(man those hurt like a mofo!) the week she was born and always while breastfeeding, and then those went away. This is wind in my tummy, like up high, and it takes ages to make its way down cos i just cant burp LOL, ive tried some fizzy drink, but that made me worse, so Ive been eating mylanta like lollies and trying to stay away from bread and stuff. Gonna get some benefibire stuff today aswell to help things in that area.
This morning I used caden colic spray and that helped and I had bran cereal for brekkie instead of toast and I had a banana and my complan, and I feel heaps better. I just hope this phase buggers off soon cos it sucks.
Im not constipated, its just the wind pain, and I have to get rid of the wind before I can go number 2's. but when i do go, its normal BM's.

Sorry to say its one of those common things with pregnancy & birth & particularly c-sections. Thats why they like to check up on you to see if you have had some wind after a c-section.
Everything has been moved about in there so can tke awhile to "come right" I wouls suggest consulting with your midwife as to what "time frame" it should come right in before getting it checked out though. Better to get it checked sooner rather than later

I got some double strength mylanta today, and was chatting to the pharmacist as he is an old family friend, and he said it can take a while for it to come right after a C Section, cos they bump everything round and there is a lot of bruising etc. he said take the mylanta and use the heat pack, so thats what Im doing, and eating well.
Its getting a little better each day so hopefully another week and Im all good!

One of the nurses on the postnatal ward suggested a hot water bottle for my wind pains, and it was fantastic.
