TT: when to be concerned?

Hannah is still not dry at nights, in fact is usually quite wet It's probably early days yet but nagging in the back of my mind is a girl in the family who night TT at 7yrs and a couple of boys up to 12 or 13yrs. When should I be concerned if/that night TT doesn't seem to be happening?

She did get all excited the other night when it felt dry, unfortunately it was just soaked through (so less fresh IYGWIM) and drawn away from her skin. Still soaked 2 FB inserts.

Teresa.. we have not even tried Paris at nights yet, and Hannah is younger than she is.    She is such a deep sleeper that we think she probably would not wake. She does have day sleeps and stays dry, and we are planning to try overnights this xmas break (which is also when we will be tt-ing Ayja) but i really don't think you have anything to worry about there. We have just been focusing on staying dry during the day with paris as she forgets and wets while playing because she gets so caught up in her games.

lol...maybe we should implement night tt-ing at the same time this xmas.. then we can support each other!

yep Brooke took ages to get rid of the night nappie (well pull ups) I know she was over 3. As some one suggested try getting her up around 10.30 for the toilet.. thats what I did and it does work.

Alyssa was only night trained this year, just before her fourth birthday, when i got fed up with her wearing pullups to bed and said NO MORE. lol mean mummy. I think we had about 3 or 4 nights of accidents and i was going to give up but my DH wouldnt let me ( I think she is a very deep sleeper). Then she got it. And (touch wood) she hasnt had any since. And Jayde has just night trained herself. Told me she didnt want nappies anymore. I just leave a potty in her room and she goes in it when she wakes up in the morning. YAY YAY no more nappies in my house.

Teresa, Kiya had only just started to night TT at Hannah's age, although she had been day-trained for about 6 months... then she broke her arm, and we decided it wasn't worth the work to keep TTing her when we had to keep the cast dry, so she went back into night nappies until the cast came off 6 weeks later. When Kiya got the hang of consitently staying dry all night, she was nearly 4yo.

Kiya is a deep sleeper too, and it just took time. She was a (comparitively) late day TTer too, as she was over 3 before she started showing signs of being able to stay dry.

I would say you've got nothing to worry about! Hannah's still young, there's not really a huge rush if she's not ready yet.

My middle daughter was still having a few accidents until about seven. I can't really remember how old she was when we took her out of night nappies but she would have been about fourish and we still used dry nights if she was staying away from home. When I started asking around my friends I was amazed to find out that allot of them had the same problem. I guess it's another one of those things people don't mention.
We did find that taking her to the toilet when we went to bed helped but she was a bit older than Hannah is now. She is still a very heavy sleeper she can sleep through just about anything but thankfully no more wet sheets now.

In the huggies web site it says night wetting is normal up to six years. So I'd say she is a normal kid.

Levi is 7yrs old next month, and has only been fully night dry for about 6mos. We tried taking him before bed, and even getting him up later but that only upset him further as he felt embarrassed about the situation.

He was day trained since he was 4yrs old, and I think the fact that he too is a heavy sleeper was what prevented him from being dry at night. But he gets up in the night now and takes himself to the loo to pee.

It is far more common than most realise for some kids to not be night dry up until 12yrs, and even 15yrs in some extreme cases. (thinking of another family member here, again a male)

I wouldn't be too worried, would be my advice, especially if she is day trained. Thats half the battle, so you are half way there.
