Topic: Evenflo Bolero Booster, sorry nother ques Posted: 06 December 2007 at 9:03am |
sorry girls, another carseat/booster question.
I am deciding what convertible carseat/booster I can get and weighing up inbetween 3. The safe n' sound at $300, the Narina at $200 or this one (Evenflo - Bolero Convertible Booster) at $240.
Has anybody got this booster and if so, can they tell me what they think of it...or any of the other 2 I am looking at as well would be fantastic!
thanks heaps girls

Where is the Narnia one from? I am interested in hearing what people say as well, as hannah is over 16kg now and I think her car seat only goes up to 18kg. So are these ones like carseats with the five point harness that go up to a higher weight and then convert to a booster with a normal seatbelt?

baby factory has them, they seem pretty good except I wasn't that convinced that the material was very sturdy and since I want this seat to last two kids....
And yes, that is exactly what they do re converting to just a normal booster with standard car seatbelt once they reach 18 or so kgs.

Kind of. The Safe&Sound MaxiRiderII, MaxiRider Plus and Explorer are all compatible with the special 'Protecta' harness (different from the usual Child Harness available, and you'll have to get it ordered in). Once kiddo is 18kg, you take out the inbuilt harness and thread the Protecta through the top slots, and clip it onto the D-ring on the tether. These are pretty much the only seats I know of that almost-inbuilt harness past 18kg, except for the Brio Zento coming into NZ in January, which Rearfaces and harnesses to 25kg. If this seat hadn't been brought in, we would have had a MaxiRiderII/Plus/Explorer on our shopping list for when X hits 18kg. :) It's great to harness them for as long as possible, they slip through an adult belt so easily in a crash!

I think it blimmin sucks because there isn't really a 'proper' 5 point harness seat for over 18kgs. They have them in the US but none in OZ, NZ or over here in the UK. The only thing you can really get is the one Jess mentioned.
We have the Narnia and its great but DD is almost out of it (shes 106cms and 15 kgs).
There is one in the US called a Britax Regent that goes up to 36kgs/135cms- its has a tether strap and a 5 point harness. I wonder how you go about importing something like this and getting it tested so its availible to NZ mums?
