FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!!! ok and still a few allergies

Negative to dairy and wheat woohoo *does a little dance*

Positive to whole eggs (well we knew that unsure why they tested), Peanuts, cats and dustmites. Eggs, dustmite and peanuts having the biggest reactions. Paed is wanting to trail Alize off beclazone for his asthma and use a antihistamine instead. I also have to get these allergy free covers for his bedding etc.

Im just soo stoked to see he has grown out of 2 and paed confident he will have grown out of others by 3

Wow interesting timing with the 'passing' of your cat recently then...

That's going to be good though because peanuts and eggs must surely be easier to manage than dairy/wheat

Thats great news! Did they give you the info about the dustmite covers? Allergy NZ has a pack of stuff about different places you can get them.

I was given heaps of information for the dustmite thing and a whole cleaning regime for his room and the house. FOr example I have to "intensely" vaccum the carpet everyday. "intensely" meaning spending 10mins on the same spot...PMSL when I read this. It would end up taking me 2 hours if I did that for the whole house. I have to damn dust his room everyday and the house once a week. there is just loads of ideas which is great.

Aimee I will go and have a look because I was wondering where I would buy them from.

Ooo where do you score one of those and how much are they?? They sound  very cool and heaps better than me timing myself over a certain patch lol. I will be doing his room like that tho

Last year I went to the allergy conference where all the specialists spoke. One of them (maybe Dr Liang?) spoke about dustmite allergy and I remember him saying that if you vigourously vacuum carpet everyday it is just going to stir them up and into the air.

Do you want me to send you a copy of the summary from the magazine about it? If I get really clever I could work out how to scan and email it!

Had a look on the resource order form from Allergy NZ (are you a member) and it is the dust mite bedding cover info pack incl price lists and fabric samples. Free to members and nonmembers.

Will be really interesting to see how it affects his asthma.

No Im not a member but really should become one. OO please if you can figure the scanning email etc it will be great to read.

Paed very positive it is the causative agent for his asthma as with many kids I guess and that once I get the dustmite thing under control and him on a good antihistamine he can come off Beclazone....woohoo that will be awesome

That's really great news Kels!
We bought a new vacuum yesterday (after blowing up the old one on Fri!) Its a Hoover brand one with a HEPA filter like Emma's which the salesperson said was brilliant for allergy sufferers and getting rid of dander and dustmites. Was only $199 on special at Godfrey's.
