Thanks for the birthday wishes Julie, Kyan had a lovely time at his party but we had a very exhausted bubba by the end of it all! I'll post a pic of his cake when I get a chance.
Congrats again Julie on becoming a SAHM - I am very pleased for you (but very jealous too!!)
Yay on the molar for Sam!! Its great that she was so settled with it - we had a pretty rough time with the first one but the second one is looking to come through any day now without much trouble thank god!!
Charlotte, great to hear the party went well - still waiting on the pics though...! I didn't take any at Kyan's...oops! I'm hoping someone did and will be able to send them to me!
Hope its going well with Cailin at kindy, I bet she is loving it.
We went to Plunket this morning and my boy is 10.6kgs and 80cm tall. He's definitely going to be tall like his dad.
Where is everybody??

OMG, did you say 80cm! That is a whopping 11 cm taller than sam! I told you he wasn't that heavy though I can throw him around quite easily still
The party was fantastic and Sam had a great time
Oh, and btw we have gone from having 5 teeth + half a molar to 7 teeth and 2 molars in less than a week! Ugh!

Wow on the teeth Sterryn!! We still haven't gotten any more through here but it can't be too far away.
Kyan's favourite toy from his party Sterryn is....the school bus!!!! Good choice ! He pushes it round the place and loves the little song it plays and you have to keep pusing the button to play it for him. Sam will have to come over and play again soon.
Well for the first time, Kyan didn't cry at all today at swimming, he had such a great time & it was just gorgeous to watch. He loves the part where the instructor sits him on the ledge, they count to 3 and he jumps in and goes right under - he has such a big smile on his face and shuts his eyes tight, soooooo cute!!
Kyan learnt to clap on Tuesday (finally!!), and when you say clap your hands he just goes for it. Gives me a high five if I ask for one too, he's just so interactive its amazing.
I cannot believe my baby is one tomorrow, I know you guys have all been there so can probably sympathise, but its actually really sad knowing that he is growing up... I'm hoping the weather is going to stay nice for us as we want to take him to the zoo for his birthday, but if it rains we'll go to Kelly Tarltons. And we'll treat him with a happy meal or something for lunch seeing as its such a special day.
Hope all the other bubbas are good, this thread is not as busy as it should be so get posting everyone!!

Happy 1st Birthday Kyan!!!
One year ago today you came into this world and changed my life forever. Every day with you has been the most amazing experience and I wouldn't change a second of it. You are the best thing to ever happen to me, and I never knew how much a person could love another until I first laid eyes on you, and my love for you grows more and more every day. I have watched you grow over the past year from a small helpless baby to a happy, independant, gorgeous little man. You make my life worthwhile, and I couldn't imagine ever being without you. Thank you for being my son. All my love forever, Mummy xxxxxxxx

Aww that is lovely Tash. Sorry I haven't posted much lately, it is actually really hard to try and get things back in order around the house. Also has been a bit clingy, like he is worried I will go away again.
Caleb is teething again at the moment although a lot better than he used to be. We have 2 new baby boys to go visit this week too, which is very exciting and only born a day apart.
Right I am off to try get some sleep now but I will talk to you all again soon.

Poor Caleb. He loves his mummy though which is so nice
Sam is looking forward to Friday so she can play with him!
We went to Thames today and went through the Butterfly House. Sam loved it although really didn't like it when they landed on her. It was pretty amazing though. Makes me really want to go to Butterfly creek. Haven't been there yet!
Oh, and someone here has finally found her voice. She has started saying so many new words lately and her old words are way clearer. She will point at DH and say Dad, and say Hi when she sees you. So cute!!!

Caleb is looking forward to playing with Sam again too. You should have told us you were going to Thames, we could have come to see you.
I really need to work out a time to go to Butterfly Creek too I think, probably not until next month though I think too poor at the moment. I didn't even know there was one in Thames.
So I am about to start my first full week as a SAHM, even though it still feels like I am on holiday from work. Hopefully I will be able to be at least slightly productive. DH has said that he will give me an hour of time to myself each night so I can have some time to get things done. So hopefully that works out well and I might get to finish some of Calebs knitting and sewing pile.

happy birthday Kyan, may you cause your Mum less and less stress and more and more sleep as each year passes!!!!
Sorry, very slack here at the moment, Cailin is a very busy young lady with kindy 4 afternoons a week, daycare, swimming and playgroup in the mornings so when we get home we are all tired and grumpy so I am getting very little time on the pc

OMG, how quiet are we! Suddenly our kids become toddlers and we all stop posting! Co-incidence!! I think not!!!
Miss S is such a handful these days! Toddler tantrums are definitley here and we have had some dozies!!!! The other thing she is doing is the fake cry so if you tell her to stop doing something she will go and lean on the couch, put her head in her arms and pretend to cry. Little ratbag!!
On the other side of it, she is just such a delight these days. Never stops talking and loves to make us laugh with her silly antics. Just the last few days she has started running on the spot when she gets really excited. It is super cute! 'sigh' she rocks!
So how is everyone else?
Tash, how did the meeting go on Friday afternoon?
Julie, have you made the pj's for Caleb yet? I am about to start knitting Sam's new jersey. I went back to spotlight today and got some pink zoomy wool which is just scrummy! OMG - I'm way to domestic! Tomorrow I hope to get a couple of nappies underway if I can figure out how to fix the darn sewing machine!!
Oh, and is it just me or has anyone else discovered new muscles in the back of their thighs after climbing up a certain kids playground to go down the slides??? OUCH!!

ditto Sterryn, I came on here this morning just to post something so we dont all get kicked out for being so slack
But life is so busy isn't it! I also have a problem of a certain young man pushing the off button on the pc every time I am on it, it is now barracaded up with a chair and big box of toys but he is doing his best to move it
Ha ha re the tantrums Sterryn, just think they have only just started, and they get bigger and bigger each day. cailin has finally grown out of the throw myself on the floor and kick arms and legs out everywhere screaming all the while....these were at their best on the main street
I am being very domestic too at the moment, I am trying my hand at making roman blinds for the new house, I thought I would start with Cailins room and if they turn out OK I will make them for the whole house. I am also making a dress for me out of the old curtains in our lounge, fingers crossed it comes out OK...mind you, if it doesn't it hasn't cost me anything

Heyas
I still come on here occasionally *oops*. We're in the middle of Kaleb being really sick - I think it might be a nasty winter ahead - spent about 1.5hours on Sat and then again on Sun at the after hours doc - not nice! He's had conjuncitivitis, an ear infection, infected pussy finger and a nasty cold which went to his chest. SO we've been dosing eye drops and antibiotics. I hate to say it but it does seem like every long weekend.....
He went to daycare yesterday but DH got phoned this morning to go and get him as he had a temp of 38.2 and when he got there Kaleb vomitted all over him so I am really hoping it was just from having morning tea with a high temp and not another stomach bug. Poor wee thing is so little to be so run down and fighting all these infections If only we could afford for me to be off work....
Stink also that we sat down and wrote out a strict budget to pay off our credit card (yes naughty debt I know) so hopefully we'll be able to stick to that no problem.
Nosey to ask, but anyone thinking about or trying for another one yet?

What are you trying to tell us Kathryn??
I would love another but have a deal with DH that we won't start trying until I have lost 20kgs. I really want to be healthier for the next one and with a toddler running around think I will need to be!!!
I should really start doing something about that losing weight thing huh :)
Poor little Kaleb!!! I will keep my fingers crossed it isn't another bug!
I was reading that their immune system doesn't have a memory for colds etc yet so they just keep getting them. We are currently in the midst of another cold here after JUST getting over the last one! Poor wee girl can hardly breathe. I am taking her to the doctors tomorrow and asking about the Demazin drops. Has anyone used them? They are meant to be quite good with decongesting them. Worth a try anyway!
Anyway, better go. Lots of things to do tonight.
We had Tash & Kyan over today for a play - it was great fun as usual

poor Kaleb...actually no, poor Mum, what a line up of things that is all about sick. At least you can say it can't get much worse.
Jeremy sounds like Sam, he seems to have a cold one week then good for a week then the cold comes straight back again. This week I have been burning tea tree oil in the lounge and putting echanasia (SP) in his milk and I have to say, his cold has only lasted 2-3 days, so when his next cold hits in a weeks time I am def going to do the same.
Re another one.....NO WAY, I am far to old to be going through that again , but then, I am one up on all of you girls anyhow
How is your weight loss going Sterryn....20kgs, that is a big goal, I hope you are heading in the right direction.
Me, I got to my goal weight about a month ago (yay for me) but am very disappointed as there is a lot more flab this time round than when I last at this weight. I have just starting running again (training for a half marathon in Oct) so hopefully some of that flab may tighten up a wee bit

Hehe no I'd LOVE another one but after working out our budget the other day the idea is on hold for a wee while. I too need to lose about 20kg - I've been doing WW for months now with only a little bit of success, but still I"m 10kg lighter than I was winter last year. THat's with not too much effort so I really need to crank it up a few notches especially since we've had to put WW into the budget and I can't really afford to pay to put on weight!
I have school holidays around the 7th of JUly if you want to have a mini OB catchup? GOing away to Taupo the second week - my lovely dad gave us his timeshare so it's just gonna cost us petrol and food YIPEE!

Oh Kathryn, most definitley for the mini meetup! It would be great to catch up with you guys again
Go, on Charlotte - you know you want three
My weight loss is at a stand still! I am still 10 kgs lighter than i was when i got PG, but have not lost any more yet. I keep wanting to but can't seem to find the motivation! Have put the hard word on DH though to make sure he helps me behave myself!

Arrggghhh I am so slack but I keep opening the window to post and then have someone needing attention. Which he will need more of in a moment as I can smell something
It was great catching up with Sterryn and Tash on Friday. Caleb had such a good time.
I hope the meeting went well
I am sorry to hear that Kaleb still isnt very well Kathryn, hope you all dont have too much more sickness this winter. No more babies just yet for us although we do have a bit of a game plan
We would love to catch up in the school holidays. And yay about the cheap holiday in Taupo.
Gotta go Caleb is causing destruction again.

Well I have just had the dreaded phone call. Daycare called and said that there is a place available for Kyan on the 30th of June
I am so so so sad to leave my boy, I am already crying my eyes out today, imagine what I'll be like the weekend before... I knew this was coming and that it had to hapen so we can get ourselves out of debt but its hit me really hard now that we have a firm date after all this time. Wow.

Oh Tash! I really feel for you. I know you were dreading this day.
Rest assured though, like you were just telling me the other day that Kyan will love being at daycare. He will have lots of fun socialising with other kids and having messy play etc.
