Farex Baby Rice

Available in 125g cartons.

Ingredients:
Ground Rice, Vegetable Oil, Vitamin C, Antioxidant (Rosemary Extract), Mineral (Iron)

Is it this one? The only other thing he might react to could be Rosemary Extract, or maybe the gluten in the rice?

I had a similar situation with Hannah when she was very young. I introduced that ^^ Baby Rice to her when she was about 4 1/2 mos or maybe a little older, and she came out with the rawest ever nappy rash. It was the only change in her diet and she wasn't teething (her teeth started at 8mos). Anyway I have no idea what she could have reacted to but I didn't reintroduce it until she was about 2yrs old. We had no problems with any other food, then or since.

What did you mix with? milk? breastmilk? water? or fruit?

If it is breastmilk, what did you ate 12 hour earlier before you express?
If milk, what formula milk did you used? etc

I would not give it to him again until his spots have gone and then do give it again and see if the same thing happens. (not sure that sentence was correct english...lol).
When Spencer had a reaction to parsnips (root veges are normally the safest) this is what we did to be sure it was that and not something else.

i just worry with that as it was the first immediate reaction we had(except the first one with the formula) and isnt the second one often worse?) he hasnt had anything new....? he's on the 4th day of beans though i suppose..

It could be the beans then, as Spencer was on parsnips for a week before the reaction came up which was part of the reason why we weren't entirely sure what it was.
Take both out until the rash has gone and then reintroduce one at a time to see which it is.

I think the second one being worse is only with the same thing, so if you gave diary again, whereas this is an entirely new reaction.

I'm confused! Do you mean you used a different brand (blue pack?), 'cause the one in the pic is the blue pack Farex. But I remember seeing a different brand on the shelves in a blue pack. Can't remember why but I couldn't use it for Ella (who was at the time eating free of all common allergens, so it had something risky in there... sorry I'm not of more help remembering what!) Do you still have the box?

Ahhhh, that one. I have never been able to give it to Ella... I think it had milk products in it. You probably wanna re-check the ingredients on the pack.
As an aside - the 'Farex' ones for 4 - 6 mth olds (plain and pear & banana) have been brilliant... allergen-free. Woo-hoo!! So you could try him on one of those instead? Hope it goes well
