I second the suggestion to try Michael Hill, jewelry is just fine as a gift at her age, wouldn't say it is yucky at all.

My daughter gets her belly button jewellery from places like Silver Moon which you find usually in the centre of the shopping centres. I am not sure where you are but Queensgate here in Lower Hutt have 2 really good body jewellery stores. That may be the other alternative a "body piercing" place as this is almost classed as alternative jewellery.

Thats a great idea for a gift though as I know my daughter loves really good belly button rings (she is a silver girl though).

michael hill has some really nice ones - have seen plain ones as well as butterflies with jewels in them (real ones as opposed to the plastic ones in mine lolol)

That would be the kewlest pressie Deb

I work for Micheal Hill, and they do do gold and white gold belly bars. It is good to go with gold if you can afford it as it is less reactive in the skin, the least amount of people are allergic to gold.
What a great Idea!
Other than that, some nice diamond studs is a geat Idea as well, you can pick them up for under $100, a nice special pressie that would be, too.
They have a 30 dya exchange thing too, they will give you a wee docket without the price on, so if she dosen't like it she can take it back, but if she does, well, she won't be able to see ow much you spent.
