Outgrown Dairy Allergy

Samara is allergic to dairy, eggs and seasame seeds.

Last night we were at a bbq and I left the room and came back to see Samara with reduced cream onion dip all around her mouth and in the middle of getting another chip dipping it into the dip and sucking it off. So of-course I freaked out and rushed to my bag to get her allergy medicine and nothing happened to her. No red marks, no swelling, nothing!

Does this mean she has outgrown her dairy allergy or was just very lucky? Do I contact her Allergist and get her to do some tests as we are not supposed to go back for a few months??

Yeah I would also ring and talk to allergist, they might still want you to keep her off the dairy until the appointment or they might bring appointment forward.
It does sound promising though. I know Spencer was tested at 12 months and then tested again a couple of weeks ago and his reaction to dairy has reduced in that time (doc said he might be able to have dairy in baking by age 2 now). We have also been told we can try egg in baking as soon as I'm brave enough and as soon as his recent ezcema flare up has settled down, whereas when we saw the doc at 12 months he said absolutely no egg.

I agree with everyone else. It does sound promising tho! Maya outgrew her dairy allergy sometime between 2 and 3 but even after a negative test they had her do a dairy challenge at the hospital just in case she reacted. Like Cuppatea we were allowed to try introducing egg at home in baking etc. around the same time and she coped fine and now has egg and dairy with no problems at all.

Hopefully she can start having things with dairy in it as she is now wanting to eat what Zac is eating so is throwing some pretty good temper tantrums because I say no...poor little thing! Samara is due her MMR so took her for that but the nurse wouldn't give it to her as it has egg in it and she has never had egg before so waiting to see what Jan says about that as well.

About MMR vs egg allergy, my two children who is severe allergic to egg and both of them had MMR done at local GP, without any single problem occurs. I was advised by UK allergy specialist that the risk of reaction is very rare, so it was safe to have done at GP's as long as we stay at GP for an hour afterward (which they end up running around afterward!!! they were bored sitting around for an hour!!) and they got epi-pen in stock just in case there is a very rare reaction occur which usually caused by react to chemical in the vaccine rather than egg in the vaccine. I did researched before my first child but found nothing state "high risk". Only thing I did delay gving them till they were 18months old and I am going to do same thing with my 14months old son till he is 18months old too. HTH?
