if any, what pain relief where you on after your C? mine was emergency and they stuffed up pretty badly and then after they "accidently" overdosed me on 3 different pain relief too which they said was fine for BF baby.................well i beg to differ........my kid now feels no pain or mild and hits his head constintly against walls and concrete, which i have been told that it was to do with the drugs............now babe number 2 is on the way and i may have to have another C....... can i survive on panadol alone????????? as i do not wish for this to happen again

You can transfer to a birthing centre .. and instead of the three days they usually allow you get five after a cs.

They should prescribe you panadol on discharge.

Oh and I only had panadol after Issy
Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months)

Wow, I was on lots! paracetemol, voltaren, codiene, tramadol, the drip at the hospital (i think it was morphine but I'm not sure) and I was told they were all fine while I was breastfeeding. Gosh I hope that my girl will be ok! My midwife had me on codiene for 4 days before I had my caesarean as I wasn't coping with the labour and there was no OB to see me in town.

I had all sorts after Caden, I was exausted after I had Caden, and had a transfusion as I lost a lot of blood.
I was hooked up to the epidural for 4 days, with morphine going through it, and Iw as given oral pain relief aswell, and they gave me some tramadol(sp?) as some point which was awful and made me go dizzy and feel yuck.

They wouldnt take my pain pump off me for ages cos of the traumatic birth, so I had to whell this damn thing around with me everywhere.

When I was finally allowed to go home (Tayla had ABO jaundice) they gave me Voltaren, Tramadol and paracetamol.. I only take the paracetamol and voltaren 2 x daily as it's still a little tender sometimes and the Tramadol was told only to take it if in pain so only had a couple the first day home.. should be ok to do just paracetamol now

When I had my C/s over ten years ago the docs gave me paracetamol suppositories in theatre. Then I had regular paracetamol and voltaren tablets whilst I was in hospital and for maybe a week or so after I was discharged.

So yep, definitely felt it at times. But it made me take it easy so I could heal.

Prebirth i had codiene, as i was planning a vaginal birth. But after c sec i had morphine, reacted to it, had something else, reacted to it. reacted to everything bar paracetamol. They suggested i kept taking i think it was the morphine as it was just making me itch, but then brennan started coming out in a rash so they took me off that. so that was it for me. definatly hurt but it was worth it. they prescribed me voltaren to take at home but didnt really need it, i was over the worst and had gotten used to living on paracetamol.

I had the morphine pump in overnight (had him at 10.45pm and it was out by 7-8am) then just panadol and voltarin in hospital and for a few days after I got home, then just panadol for a week or so.

I was told I could spend 3-5 days in hospital. My doc said on day 2 I was fine to go the next day but I stayed one more night by choice.

Check with the birthcentre you are wanting to transfer to. I'm pretty sure that Riverridge said they don't take a CS transfer, and I thought Waterford was the same.

I know i was given a shot of morphine while still on the drip. After I came off the drip, it was panadol and voltaren for me. I remember freaking out because panadol is not a strong pain relief!!! but it actually was fine. Having the aches was probably a good thing - prevented me from overdoing it.
