lol Hopes yeah it does seem funny to be so excited about an appt at FA but I know what you mean, its neat to be getting one step closer to our goal.
Scaredycat that is so exciting and oh my gosh, not very far away at all I will be praying and hoping for a sticky BFP for you this time.
I went and had the blood taken for my repeat Lupus anticoagulant test today, and she found a vein first go lol which is amazing usually takes them several goes to find my veins
And DH and I are off to Rotovegas for a weeks break away which will be great and by the time we get back our appt will only be about a fortnight away, yay

Hey everyone
How did everyone's long weekend go? I had a nice weekend - spent yesterday at my SILs cooking stuff for the freezer - we cooked about 35 meals to freeze, so that will be great for those nights that you just can't be bothered. It was fun, too - good to catch up with her.
Fingers crossed ScaredyCat - the 8th isn't far away now!

what a great idea Judith!! We do that with leftovers but never bother to do things that way. What kind of meals do you do when you cook to freeze them?
We just hung at home as Alex is teething so has been sleeping horribly which means of course that so do we. But all good as he is such a happy teether really just doesn't sleep well.

Yea, it works well. I've done it before, but this was the first time I got together with anyone else to do a cook-a-thon; it was fun.
We made:
- Spicey mince and beans for nachos
- Spag bol
- Savoury mince (to defrost and turn into lasagne etc)
- Pumpkin curry
- Sweet 'n' sour sausages
- Sausage casserole
- Vege soup
- Teriyaki chicken
We had plans to do more, but ran out of steam!!

Hey all!
Thought I'd join in here
A few of you know my story, but for those who don't...
I'm 24, DP is 29... I have PCOS & we have been trying since April 07 (with a couple of breaks in there, but off contraception the whole time).
Have had countless cycles of clomid as I don't have a cycle or ovulate naturally, am actually on another one right now as I had a natural AF arrive last week.. big shock!
Anyways, better sort myself out!
Am doing a night shift tonight, chat soon...

hi guys
we've been TTC#1 for over 3 years - unexplained infertility, both functioning normally. 4 rounds of chlomid and a failed IUI, we don't qualify for public funded IVF.
with the stress of it all we are not trying (but not preventing) anymore. still doesn't stop me thinking about it alot, time is not on our side - DH 40 and i'm fast approaching 35.
wishin41 think we've talked before.

Hey everyone
Good to hear your stories, Wishing41 and Angelmouse. Since I haven't been on these boards that long, it's nice to hear your stories, even if you've told them before
My FA appointment got moved forward - it's now on Thursday. Yay - less waiting!

Hi ladies . How's everyone doing? OB! doesn't seem so slow tonight, yay!
How did your transfer go ScaredyCat? Will keep everything crossed for a sticky bubba for you .
Hope you had a lovely break in Rotorua appy2, so sorry to hear of your latest mc. All the best for your next FA appt, and for yours tomorrow Hopes.
I went back to my GP today for my day21 blood test ...I swear she had never heard of it as she gave me a confused look (like I was nuts because my day2 results were in the normal range) and said "So do you want a repeat of your blood test done?" Hopefully they test for the right things! Also had my smear test as was due for it in Oct anyway, and they can test for other probs at the same time. My GP referred me to a OBGYN specialist at the hospital and I got a letter the other day saying I'm on the waiting list and have been classified as "semi-urgent" (ie should be seen by the specialist 3 months) so I'm stoked about that. Can't do much else at this stage I guess ... feeling a bit useless lol.

Hi all
Awesome that your appointment got moved forward Hopes, goodluck Its a great feeling to finally have that appointment.
Well our break in Roto was great but equally nice to be home again. Missed our pets Only twenty days till our next FA appointment.
Kakapo, from my understanding of things Day 21 blood test is for progesterone (this will tell you if you have ovulated). But awesome that you have an appointment, the only other thing you can do to possibly get seen quicker is to go private - but there would still be no guarantee that you would get seen quicker.
Hey Sara, nice to see you back chatting Welcome angelmouse, Im sure Ive seen you around before too. lol Im 39 so your just a spring chicken
eta: Sara yay for a natural AF

Hi everyone
Just to introduce myself, I'm 27 and DH is 31. I went off the BCP in December with the plan to start TTC in March, but was a a little concerned when AF just never arrived. Anyway many doctors visits and blood tests later my doctor told me I wasn't ovulating, so she sent me off for an ultrasound, which confirmed PCOS.
I've got my first appointment at FA (in Auckland) on the 2nd of July, I'm actually really looking forward to it, just to have some sort of 'action'.
Hopes, how did you get on with your FA appointment?
I think this thread is a really good idea!

Hiya, just thought I would check back and say Hi. Transfer on Monday went as well can be, embie thawed nicely and managed to retain eight cells, so was really happy about that.
Have since caught by partners bugs that he ever so nicely bought home with him (flu) and have broken out in unusual rash starting on chest and now worked its way up to neck, so all in all, was feeling really good but not so flash now, was very bad timing. Never mind, fingers crossed little embie is a toughie.

Hiya, I used to be quite a regular, mainly hanging out in the charting and other TTC threads - so I know some but others are new names to me! I guess lately I've been MIA because I just got fed up with the same old, same old and not progressing much on this journey.
Anyhooo - I'm 32 and DH is a few days off 39 and we've been trying for our first bubba for 2.5 years. In that time I've tried a bit of everything - charting, temping, checking CM, accupuncture... but so far nothing to show for it but one early m/c about 18mths ago.
Thankfully I have a pretty on-to-it GP who said she'd start the basic tests after 10mths of trying - my bloods all came back fine as did DHs SA. She then sent me for some scans which showed a chunky cyst on my right ovary (or was it the left? hmmm ).
Because of this cyst endo was suspected so I got referred to FA here in Wellington - my specialist AM scanned me again and backed up the original suspicions of endo so I was booked in for a lap and dye - the wait was 6 months so we took a bit of a break during this time to just enjoy our relationship again.
I had surgery early December last year which removed the endometiroma (aka chocolate cyst) and unstuck a few bits and pieces tidying up the lesions caused by the endo in various areas of my pelvis. I was diagnosed with grade 3 endo and told that they'd give me another six months of trying naturally and then we'd move onto to the next stage - IVF.
Well, that six months is up with nadda happening (well my AF is less painful so I am thankful for that!) and my appoinment back at FA is this coming Thursday where I'm expecting to be put on the waiting list for IVF - expect, hope... you know... I need to take another step forward so if they don't whack me on the waiting list I'm gonna scream, hehe!
Whoops, sorry wee bit of a novel but I'm all introduced now and I look forward to sharing everyone's journeys to BFPs and the little people beyond.

Wecome Victoria Awesome to have an appointment at FA, 2nd July is not too far away.
Scaredycat - I have got everything crossed that you have a tough sticky little embie there Sucks to be sick though.
Angie Welcome back, didn't realise until I saw your handle that I had missed your sense of humour round the threads
I hope the break was good for you both and no doubt has brought your appointment much closer. Yay for Thursday, goodluck chick
Think I am going to go to my gp tomorrow and organise a couple of hcg bloods cause I am still getting +ve hpts 25 days after my m/c So confusing, Im hoping that the levels are finally getting back to 0, but not sure so just might make sure that that is normal, iygwim

lol, I wish Scaredycat but had a scan and everything was definately gone & plus I don't have any early preggy symptoms. I just think from what Ive read that it takes 4-6 weeks for hcg levels to come back down. Only thing that will be a bit confusing is if I did get pg straight away then it would be hard to tell, lol. I guess if Im still getting +ve hpt's next week I might get some blood tests and that will show hopefully that they are going down as they should.
How are you hanging in there, are you managing to keep yourself busy, so the waiting doesn't do your head in

Hi everyone, I was a regular in the TTC threads, came off the BCP in July 08, and have been trying since Nov 08.Then in march my AF didn't arrive and hasn't for 3 months. So went to my GP and he took bloods and sent me for a scan, and Yes I have PCOS. Never knew cause I have been on the BCP for 10 years or so. Now we have been referred to the FA in wellington and got a letter today saying my appointment for aug11. Thats so Far away! But good news last week got my AF, wasn't as heavy as I thought it would be but its a good sign.
Anyway, im trying to lose weight as well, but its quite hard, I have read about metformin and its supposed to help regulate your ovulation and also helps you to lose weight. Have abny of you tried this, cause it can be also prescribed by your GP.
Thats long enough for now, oh yeah, Im 32 and my DH is 38. FXs we get some results soon!

Hi everyone. The TTC threads are getting really hard to be in coz it seems like EVERYONE is getting UTD.
I had my day 21 test done and it was VERY low. 1.3. Going to do another month of monitoring and do bloods at day 23 and if it's that low i'll be on Clomid I think.

Hi ladies, thought I would introduce myself.
Im Ginni, 37 and DFis 35. We have been charting for 6 months so I started in the waiting TTC group, then in May graduated to TTC. We had blood tests done last week on me as my charts are all over the place (more on that later), but last night we found out DF has zero sperm in his sample checked last week.
We saw the Dr today and will do a second sample now but its looking like IVF maybe our route...
Look forward to getting to know you ladies :)
