So we have the top layer of our wedding cake which is fruit from Nov 07 so almost 2 yrs, and i am going to use it use a 2nd cake for Leahs first birthday, but mum was saying the other day that you have to take the icing off and put fresh stuff on?? Is this true? Coz thats a reason why i wanted to use it coz it looks pretty

And how long does it take to defrost a cake?

Nah, we had ours for our boy's dedication - more than 2 years on. It was really nice! We did nothing to the icing. I'm not too sure how long it took to defrost sorry cos my parents had it in their freezer - I'll ask though.
