Elle was well and truely in the swing on wee's on the potty before Ashley arrived. I expected some regression but it is doing my head in!

Elle used to say when she needed to go, now she will not say and if I ask her if she needs to go or tell her it is time to go or any such thing she just yells at me. I try saying I need to go and getting her come and go too but that doesn't seem to work either.

She will scream blue murder that she doesn't have wee's but time after time after time her knickers are wet.

She's always had poo issues and hasn't yet managed a poo on the toilet - she just gets beside herself at the suggestion. The thing is she takes so long to do her poos as she holds on to them for as long as she can. When she does go she only lets out a little bit then a few hours later a bit more etc. Some days that means 3 pairs of knickers with poos.

She is not at all concerned with being wet or dirty.

I've tried a casual approach, a very "parent directed" approach, a reward chart, games, stories about tt, songs, taking away something she wants etc etc and nothing seems to have any effect.

What to do? I'm so so over all the gross undies! Obviously there are some other issues intertwined with this i.e. her agressiveness (she shouts all the time even though we never even raise our voices etc). She just seems to be going through a phase where she just wants to be distructive, loud and "anti" everything.

ahh toileting - my most hated thing with the kids. time is the only remedy...you just have to ride it out... you could try her in nappies again. or i have these great training undies for toby i got off TM. they are like normal undies with a nappy liner sewn in them. saves lots of wet trackpants and floor and furniture, not any help with poo tho!

Wow this sounds pretty much like my DS2 i really don't know what to do with him as he doesn't care if hes wet or pooey. He was soooo good for the first few months of TT but now is shocking, tho when he is at his carers hes not as bad??

Honestly I totally sympathise with some of the issues you have been having lately!! Her playing up is obviously attention seeking behaviour now that she has competition in the form of her little sister. We started having those issues around the same time, and sometimes it's still a bit of a nightmare..but she is getting better.

I didn't bother trying to TT Alyssa when Kayla was soon to come along because I didn't want to deal with the regression! Lazy of me I know, as she was ready, but I just didn't have the energy at the time.

She definitely regressed in terms of eating, as she now uses her hands "just like Kayla" (very annoying).. And when I ask her about using a potty she said she wants to use a nappy "just like Kayla".

Now that it is school holidays and we have a couple of weeks off Kindy, I'm going to stick her in knickers and just start it off. I know she's ready!

I don't know about your situation to be honest..but yeah, maybe something to make it easier for cleanup sounds like all you can do until she is ready again.

We are going through a regression too and I was expecting it - totally gross in some aspects but as Bizzy said the likeliest "cure" is time and not making a big deal out of it.

Fiona how is Ella now?

Tried everything with Rhyley - some days hes great but others (like today) all in his undies - even put him in big MCN's to put him off - NOPE go figure he's very happy to be in them - he thinks they are cool!

Hi Chickaboo. Absolutely fine. It all turned around quite quickly after I posted. She accidentally had a bit of poo sneak out in the bath, lept out horrified and did the rest on the toilet and from that day has done poo's in the toilet everytime. Just like most kids, she is occassionally too busy and I find her walking around knock-knee'd but we haven't had any accidents day or night for a very long time.

I'd have to say time is the best cure. Just when you feel it will never happen it does. Just stay as casual as you can and he will get there.
