Hi all, I'm a little in two minds about sending Jake to kindy (if I can) vs just staying at daycare. So wondering what others would do in the same situation.
I've decided on the private kindy if he does go, as they do 3 yr olds in the morning so he could still have a nap if necessary, and they would be happy with him just going two days.
He is currently still going to daycare two days as he was in before I had Morgan, and I'm going back to work part time in a few months. DH will look after Morgan initially for the 3 days I'm working. Then they will both be going 3 days from june 1st. Jake turns 3 at the end of june. So IF I can organise it somehow that someone else has him half of one day (my mum or dh) or slightly change my work hours (possible I think), do I send him to kindy for two half days and keep him in daycare for 2 days, or stick to 3 days in daycare?
Obviously he is already settled in daycare and Morgan will be going there so that is the logical choice. And it also means we can keep going to playcentre once a week, which he loves (but there wont be many over 3s still there as most are starting kindy), but I probably wouldn't keep going if he had two full and two half days in daycare/kindy, as I'd like one day at home.
The pros of changing are:
- He will be with kids that are going to the same school (our daycare is a little further away - long story)
- Cheaper
- Half a day with just me and Morgan at home probably (a break for me, and quality time for her)
- Different equipment / people / kids / learning experiences for him (?)
Assuming i'd be happy with the level of care both provide (have read the ero report, met teachers/observed a session, talked to mums in the area), what would you do?
