Was I the only one who cringed when, around the time of his racist comment, Paul Henry commented that 'so and so' couldn't be Governor General because they were pregnant?! What age are we living in and shouldn't that comment get some publicity too? He's such a muppet.
thats a bit of a double standard though... we want to have extended maternity leave and women able to stay at home without being penalised so why then would we expect someone who is pregnant to take on such a role or feel they should. i agree that a pregnant women shouldnt take on a role such as governor general.
Isn't it about choice and the individual? And just because a mother might not want to doesn't mean mothers aren't capable or should be discriminated against for employment opportunities.
I think that comment that he made was a tongue in cheek comment to Pippa, as one she is pregnant and two she is leaving the breakfast show after she has the baby so why would she want the GG job, he then went onto say that he wouldn't get the job either.
I think if it was said in seriousness then Pippa would be the first person to shoot him down!!!
