Hi there,

Long story short, my df had some surgery 5 weeks ago and they have found cancer in the tissue they removed.

He will be undergoing chemotherapy in a few weeks time once he is strong enough, he has been having post op complications since his operation.

I have had 2 miscarriages already and I'm starting to wonder if it's anything to do with the cancer, although we had genetic testing on the first baby and it came back normal.

My dilemma is that now we will need to freeze sperm before the chemo as it Can cause infertility. I'm apprehensive about ivf after already losing two, so the only other option is to try in a few days.

I think I would probably be stupid to ttc when we are going through this, but just wondered if anyone had anay thoughts, ideas, or positive stories about this stuff?

Do we give it one last shot naturally? Or do we wait and see what happens and go through ivf?

Thanks in advance, I know this is an awful topic and I appreciate anay help.

Xxx

Didn't want to read and run.

Sorry to hear you and your partner are going through this. Big

May be you could freeze some sperm just in case, but try naturally again so at least the sperm is there as a backup.

Just thought I would come back and say there is no right or wrong on the timing. If it something you both want to do and feel you can handle, then why not It might be something positive you can both focus on and bring joy out of a tough time.

I cant help with the timing issue but if you freeze DH sperm you may just be able to do IUI to get pregnant rather that IVF, unless there are issues on your side.
And I am a big beliver in letting nature take its course, and if you get UTD this month so be it.
Oh and before I go, Big Hugs to you both, Im sure this is a very hard time for you

I'm sorry I don't really have any words of wisdom but so sorry that you and your partner are going through this and sending lots of positive vibes your way.

Take care.

Hey sweets,

Personally, I'd try naturally and get some freezies.

Lots of people will say that there's no right time to have a baby - and we're proof that when we think it's the right time, our bodies have other plans!

I'd hate for you to regret not trying hun xx

Just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear this..

Personally I would try naturally & freeze some too just in case.
You never know, if you get pregnant naturally it would give your DF something extra special to think about.

Good luck Babe!

Hey all, just thought I'd bump this thread as my DF has just been diagnosed with cancer, they say its cureable which is amazing and we are very thankful for that, we are also truly blessed to have our 17 month old little boy but we were hoping to add a second bundle of joy to our family.

We will be doing some speedy sperm banking tomorrow before chemo starts on Monday. Just wondered if anyone has any info on the process if we have to use the banked sperm, is IVF the only option? Will obviously talk to the doc tomorrow but I know there is a such a supportive group out there and someone might have some info
