Hi
Does anyone have a veggie garden in Dunedin? What do you grow in it? I have always had no luck with anything more than lettuces because the summer is too short.

Sorry Mattsmum - only just seen your post!
We grow broad beans, peas, lots of potatoes (both in the ground and in bags), silverbeet, spinach, radishes, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce. Tomatoes aren't very successful!

You could buy some of the winter veggie plants which are sold in the farmers market and plant them now and you'd have cabbage in the winter, and broccoli come spring time.

Oh and garlic - plant it midwinter, and harvest in the spring. I planted it all over the place, with flowers, veggies and in plant pots!!
