Caro, wishing you all the best, hopefully we'll get to add another sibling to our June 09 babies soon!!
Not sure if this will help you, but I was able to relax a little bit this time around as I have had Jae to keep me from dwelling too much on how long it might take, or what we would have to try (in the end it wasnt much at all, which I am still stunned about!) I hope that ends up being the case for you Caro, that nathan helps keep your mind off all the upcoming procedures etc...

Cheers Lisa, I hope so too. Its more the waiting for the clinic to sort their sh*t out that drags on so long, once we start the ball rolling it wil be all good Im sure! fingers crossed for a speedy BFP for everyone

We went back to the clinic today, have to go right back to the start with all the blood test and have to see the counselor again too, Was hoping to be able to skip some of the process for DI since we have already done it once but that doesnt seam to be the case. Oh well, at least the ball is rolling and I have jumped on the Rollercoaster ride. Im hanging on tight, but hoping its not going to be a long ride

Hi thought that I would introduce myself I am living in aussie but find this forum better than the aussie ones. Me and DH have been trying for at least three years finally have got a referral to specialist. Initial tests show that DH has low mobility and low count. We have appt at fertility specialist in two weeks which is sooner than what I imagined. Good to know that there are successes out there.

Hi trouble06, good luck with your appt with the fertility specialist - I'm sure they will paint a clearer picture for you and give you some options. My DH has low motility issues, so we were advised to go for IVF treatment, and luckily first time round I got pregnant, so I am a success story and I hope that inspires you for your journey. Has your DH been taking Menevit at all, usually this is something that the fertility specialists like them to do for 3 months and then to get tested again? Even tho this did improve DH's sperm motility, it was still not enough to get pregnant sadly. Look forward to following your progress hun

Snoopy if you don't mind me asking did you do ICSI?? I've just started my first round of IVF/ICSI - it's so great to hear of a first time success!! Not sure if I have already corresponded with you about this?? I lose track a bit with all the different names

Hi Hoping, no, you haven't corresponded with me before - I know what you mean about keeping up with names, I get confused myself sometimes  . Yes, we did IVF with ICSI, only one of our little embies survived, so we feel very fortunate that it was successful. Good luck with your journey flower - I do occasionally check out the IVF forum so I shall watch out for you xx

Thanks - no he hasnt tried it yet. Might go to the specialist and see what he recommends.
I feel extremely lucky living in AU at the moment especially with Medicare rebates on IVF treatment etc. If I was still living in NZ think I would have waited a while to be seen under the public system.
Since I am 35 now I feel lucky that we now have had tests done so we can determine what we need to do going forward.
I know other people have recommend cutting out or cutting back on caffiene, and alcohol etc? Do you think it makes a difference?

Hi troubleo6, wow Medicare dish out rebates for IVF - that's great. Nothing like that over here unfortunately! I wish that our private medical insurance had covered it, but nothing like that in NZ either  . I'm originally from the UK, and I know that they have medical insurance that will cover IVF! We had no choice but to dig deep into our pockets as we could not wait for the publicly funded cycle, as it's approx a 18 mth wait . I turned 38 recently, and I too am soooo glad that we had lots of tests done sooner rather than later - you can't hang around when you get to our age gal
As for your question on cutting back on caffeine and alcohol, I would defo do both of these, I think the healthier you are, the more chance your body has of responding - plus it doesn't hurt to give it a go either - good luck my love, and keep us updated x

Snoopy - I'm glad to hear that you had a BFP after your first IVF/ICSI - we are in the same boat and are going to have our first treatment in FEb 2012, I secretly can't wait even though its so far away.
Did the menevit make much improvement? We are going back up in sept to do some freezing for our appt.
Fingers crossed it has slightly improved.
Does anyone else take elevit ?

Hi rachb, the menevit did make some improvements, but not enough in our situation. It depends on how bad the sperm issues are with your DH, but it is something definitely worth trying.
As for Elevit, I took this all through my IVF treatment and for the first 14 weeks of pregnancy, but after that I started to get bad constipation and tummy aches, and my MW advised that I come off it. Due to the high doseage of iron in it, it sometimes can have this effect on pregnant people - and the fact that I have more than enough iron in my system just meant I was overdosing on it!

Thanks for the friendly replies. yeah once you have hit about $1,000 in out of pocket expenses in a calendar year Medicare rebates you about 80% of the cost - so I think a round end up costs about $2,000 all up plus any other drugs etc. I think there is also a public system over here with IVF but not qute sure how it works?
Probably hardest thing over here in AU has been seeing a doctor to take us seriously in relation to not getting pregnant - I visited three different ones before I found a woman GP who saw both me and DH at same time and finally provided referral for me - whch is what specialist needs to get Medicare to cover you.
We have decided not to have private insurance over here only thing it covers you for is hospital stays etc - and I dont see the point in paying the additional $$$ anyway.
I will speak to FS and see whether DH should start taking menevit.
Both of us have been good recently with diet, reducing coffee alcohol etc.
One thing that has been good for us is that it has made our relationship stronger than ever which is good - it is a joint problem and one we will jointly go through.

Hello girls,
I have recently found a website -"biocoat incorporated" that claims to help select the best sperm in the ivf/icsi process with some sort of hyalouric (spelling?) acid where the good sperm binds to this and then the embryologist can then pick that sperm to inject to egg - therefore better embryo.
I have given this info to our Dr at FA in hamilton to pursue this further..
We have sperm dna fragmentation issues and also sperm antibodies so would like to know if anyone else has any comments on this..
This maybe a breakthru... heres hoping!

20 mature, 15 fertilised, 1 fresh transfer and 2 frosties

Sorry for chiming in to the thread so late, just wanted to add my 2 cents. Yoga can totally help you lose weight if that's your goal. Yoga burns calories when done the right way, that's for sure! If you are serious about losing weight and getting fit, you might want to implement a 60-minute power yoga and/or vinyasa flow practice at least five to six days per week. This yoga weight loss program was easy to follow and worked flawlessly for me. Each class is easy to follow, but is varied and enjoyable. Dynamic Sequencing means you'll always be challenged regardless of your current level.
