Would you recommend yours?

Ours has died! We live on a farm and I have to vacuum 2-3 times a week just to keep the place clean so want something that will suck well and won't making vacuuming such hard work.

Is bagless better? Upright?

I've heard Miele and Bissel are good.
Does anyone have one of these? Link

Thanks

We have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a small child and LOVE it - it is so great things actually travel across the carpet to get to it

My parents have an older bagged model which is also AWESOME

we got a new one in Jan from Godfreys and it is great. We have a long haired cat so we needed one that could vac up the hair and we ended up with a Hoover brand with a big foot on it. Would really recommend it for sucking up the cat hair etc but the cord is super short.

I my Dyson with turbo head.
I've heard great things about the Wertheims, too.

My Mum used to have an old Tellus - the one that looked like a Darlek from Dr. Who. That was brilliant, but I don't know if you can get them anymore..

I used to sell vacumms - Dyson were by far the most popular, and yes, they do have great suction but I found them a bit 'tinny' and we got a lot of them back cause they were faulty/broke easily.
I have a Miele cat and dog. Have had it for about 6yrs now and it still goes like a dream. Can't recommend it enough!
Tellus are now Nilfisk - they are OK but no where near as good as the old Tellus ones!
Bissell are also good. They do a great wet/dry vac!

I love my upright, hate the ones that you have to drag behind you cause I was always banging it into stuff.

I would seriously recommend this!
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Cleaning-bins/Vacuum-cleaners/Bagless-vacuums/auction-301026108.htm

They have some serious power and being bagless, it's so much easier than having to buy and change bags constantly. The only down side is that the container isn't huge so for my place (which is quite big) i have to do the lounge/dining/kitchen/laundry (all one room), empty the container, then do the rest of the house.
I have just recently bought a new one. Not because the first stopped working, but after 3 years of use, the plastic filter piece on the back broke though i think the plastic pieces will break before the vacuum will stop going! And for $80, you can't go wrong! =P
Definitely worth giving it a go. I wouldn't bother buying any other now (unless they bring out one with a bigger container!)

Thanks for all the replies!
Sounds like a Miele Cat and Dog is the way to go... just seems like a lot of money to spend on a vacuum cleaner, I'm a scrooge!
Think I'll have to test them out and see how I go

Thanks again!

I have a bissell. It is the red upright one and we got it dec last year from noel lemmings. I think they gave us $30 off for cash so ask for a discount if you are paying for cash.

I love it but it is heavy. I also hate the fact that I bought the same one in the states for $69 us dollars and paid over $300 here for it. Differences in voltage meant I couldn't bring it back with us. I think bagless is the way to go and would definately go upright rather than hose and drag along thing. My reasoning behind this is that the motor of the vaccum is right by the suction head whereas with the long hose you can lose alot of suction before it reaches the head.

I had the bissell wet vaccum in the states and loved it. I hate to think how much they are here. I paid $180 us for mine from walmart and used it over and over again so it definately paid for itself.

Hope this helps.

For the upright ones, how do you get into those little small spaces, like under the couch (or in my case, under the kitchen cupboards as we have no toe kicks)???

There is a hose on the back that you can unclip and put an attachment on.
