Does it exist?
I am hoping to avoid medical intervention if at all possible for #2 when (and if) it happens! I just recall being so fuzzy in the head and not really with it, what with pethidine and epidural during the very long labour ...
is it possible? I'm sure a lot depends on the pregnancy and baby's position too, and also on the midwife you get, but ... does anyone have any stories?

Yes it is possible. I had a home waterbirth VBA2Cs just about a year ago now. You just need to find a supportive homebirth midwife

Is there a difference between VBA2Cs and VBAC?

VBA2C is after 2 c secs and VBAC is after 1.
My MW was very supportive and after I saw OB at hosp and was told they would sign me off to have what ever birth I wanted I still really wanted a VBAC. Mine was not a lovely homebirth like toniellis but I had complications 10 days before he was born and was very likely having another cs anyway. Managed to avoid that but still had to have interventions. If there had been no complications then I would have been able to have more time at home etc instead of being monitored the whole labour.
My cs was because Leah was early and in distress and I only dialated 2cm after 12 hrs of concractions every 2 mins. Leah was taken straight to special care when she was born.

My first c-section was for induction, failure to progress & then fetal distress.... After 31 hours of labour. Alex was 9lb 2 born. My second was just failure to progress, Blaire was 9lb 4. #3 was my beautiful home waterbirth. Erika only weighed 8lb 15 but she had a bigger head. The MAIN difference was the different atmosphere, being at home really helped me relax & do what needed to be done. First contraction to Bubs pushed out was just over 4.5 hours & pushing itself only took 18 minutes which my midwife said was fantastic considering she was my first actual birth.

Hi Toni, Mountaingoat and LeahandJoel:):)...I'm baaacckkk...last year I was on 3rdtymlucky but then had a m/c just on my 12th week...today I am 16 weeks and yet to have my first antenatal appointment due to being mucked about by Middlemore/Kidzfirst who my GP referred me to...but managed to find Ruth's (MW) details and am awaiting a call from her later today:)...
Because of my MC I was seriously contemplating a 3rd and final C/S but since the treatment I got yesterday...I'm am definitely going for a natural...and at home...hubby and mum are still anxious about that but after the lack of antenatal care I've received there is no way I'm going to the hospital to have my baby...anway...it's great to be back and to read the comments and those who have "been there done that"...it's truly inspirational:) Keep the stories coming please...I'll never get sick of them:)

Hi ladies:)..had my first antenatal appointment with Ruth yesterday and it was great! Have my first u/s tomorrow and can't wait for that too:)...exciting stuff given that our baby we lost was due at the end of June...however, we're looking forward to a good pregnancy and a homebirth to boot:)..would appreciate any tips and advice to help prep for it...:):)

Hi there Ive had 2 home waterbirths after a emergency c-sec, caesar was due to induction-infection-faliure to progress-fetal distress. Home births were great and so nice, Ive also had 2 natural hospital births to that were fine but it sucked to have to get in the car afterwards and come home to my bed was much nicer just being at home for the whole lot

I have had 2 previous c-sections and with this baby i'm going to try for a natural delivery, not at home will be in hospital but thats fine with me i would feel safer in the hospital if anything were to go wrong. I have a wonderful, supportive MW and am really looking forward to the experience.
Toniellis reading your story gives me even more encouragement that i will actually beable to do this, thanks.
