Tuna?

We gave Kylah tuna for the first time on sunday and she came out in spots around her mouth and on her legs, does this mean she could be allergic to fish?

Yep you can be allergic to fish!
You now need to be more careful with other fish or what specialist said to me, best to avoid it because my OH is and still allergic to every single fish and shellfish and now my youngest two have show reaction to Salmon and codfish (and just recall my DD rejected grandma's tuna sandwich that I forgot to mention to specialist)...so I have avoid every fish/shellfish for their sakes.

By the way, Fish allergy is harder one to grow out of it as same as Peanuts allergy although.

What I did with my three children because of their daddy's allergy, I smeared small amount of fish on their back (areas where they can't reach it to avoid accident get trace of fish into their hand, so easy to clear up afterward ) then wait for up to 15mins before you can see hives/welts appear mean likely allergic to fish. You best not to give any fish via mouth, too risky. I always have anti-histamine ready on stand-by just in case. If you are concern about her fish allergy, ask Dr for RAST/skin pricks test to confirm the allergy.
Knowing my OH's serious fish allergy, dr suggested to avoid all fish for youngest two because they already had an accident-contact reaction to Salmon (my faults ) . And avoid shellfish for my eldest till he is older because he was tested negative for fish and no reaction so far to some fish. BUT because of the onset age of my OH's allergy (he was around 9 or 10 years old) there is high risk that my eldest may develop later rather than develop at childhood like his siblings, so everytime he have fish, it is like timebomb wait to blow.....Yes I can get him avoid fish just in case but there is likehood that he MAY not develop at all and he LOVE fish....
HTH?

Thanks for that :) Thats a great help. I think we will just avoid fish. We never usually eat it anyway. Just was a once off but i will let daycare know not to give her fish.

Yeah fish is one of the things that we avoided till Spencer was skin prick tested at 12 months as they are a high risk food (as in lots of people react to fish, not high risk for severity of reaction).
I would let the gp know next time you take Kylah in for something and they may send you for the skin prick test. Totally harmless, isn't even really a prick, Spencer found his ticklish.
Until then I would just avoid giving any fish, Spencer rarely eats it cos he's not that keen so I don't think it is something to worry about not being in their diet.
