Has anyone done this??
I'm due with #4 at the end of July and have decided to have my tubes tied at the same time.
If anyone can share any info, or experiences that would be great! I'm aware of the basics, just wondering how much longer the c-section took, if recovery was any different (if you had had previous c-section & are able to compare??)
Thanks

I had my tubes tied after an emergency C-section in November.
The surgery took about 40 minutes after Anthony was born, but they also removed some cysts while they were there.
I don't know if the recovery was any worse than to a normal C-Section as it was my first, but to be honest I didn't find it too bad at all. Certainly no pains or complications that were because of it.

I got my tube tied (yes only had one to do) when I had Elodie.

Not too sure how much longer it took as the OB tied up my scar and took some leesions off it due to have 3 operations thru the same scar so took longer anyhow.

As for recovery I had a ceaserean with #3 and #4 (tube tied) and recovery wise was the same - didn't feel any sore'r or anything. Just a a few more bruises round the area but nothing major.

just had this done last week...

they said cause i had adhesions from first one and tubes tied i might be in more pain...i certainly am in less pain than my first emergency (although they left me in labour 5 hours :( this time as i went into labour just before elective)so they class it as emergency when it wasnt quite..)

c section was actually quicker.. the doc said it takes about two more mins.. they did ask my 80 million times if i was sure though!!:)
Mum to two amazing boys!

hey, im booked in at the start of july for an elective c-section and hopfully get my tubes tied aswell.  my midwife is pretty positve that i should be able to get it done. she also told me it might be best to stay in hospital the full 4 days.
