There's no way we can afford a private OB as much as I would like one. And the insurance won't cover it. I've tried convincing DP that we should wait until we've saved enough for a private OB, but that would take ages, and if I'm going to do this I want to do it sooner rather than later.

I said I was never having another baby after DD. But i have and it wasn't what I wanted both times.

I've never gone into labour naturally and ive had 2 c-sections. I tried for a vbac but nothing was really happening and I got induced. I failed to progress and I opted for a section (after a day and half or being induced and in labour) as things were heading down the same rd as is was with DD and I couldn't go through that again. So yeah I've never gone into labour naturally and given birth vaginally and never will be able too as they think my pelvis is too small and thats why my babies dont engage, not even close too, lol! It's taken me ages to come to terms with that and I beat myself up about it probably way too much. It's strange that some women give birth easily and others don't. But the birth is only the beginning of your journey as a parent, and i've been blessed (so far ) with 2 lovely kids who have both been very happy settled babies. And breastfeeding has been a breeze with both too.

And at least we live in modern days where medical intervention is so easily avaiable otherwise all us c-sections mums and babies may not be around to tell the tale.

I'm sure when the time comes and you're ready to have more children you will be fine and all will turn out great in the end!

I can't believe that mw never gave you a scan! I understood part of the scan was to check how big the hole in your pelvis was.

Can you ring around and have chat to a few midwives & see if you can get answers before you even TTC? It might help talking to one about another birth.

Also did you report that mw?

Aliasmum, not having a scan in NZ was heartbreaking - in the Northern Territory you're not allowed a copy of your scan (on a dvd or video) and you're not allowed your actual scan pics. I would have loved a scan to see how things were doing.

I didn't report the MW, I should, but I looked into it and all they do is suspend them IF there is good reason. I sort of feel like it's my fault, I was calm about being in labour because I studied hypno-birthing for months, and then I wasn't insistent enough about what I felt was going on. The only point I lost it was when they got me in for monitoring on day 9, and hooked me up, and I wanted to get in the shower or bath and she told me I wasn't allowed because of bubs heart "I'VE BEEN COPING WITHOUT F*&^%G GAS OR DRUGS FOR DAYS LET ME HAVE A G*****M SHOWER!!!"

And yep, pomikiwi, if it weren't for modern medicine my daughter would be dead because of the labour.
