OMG what idiots - I do wonder where they got their info from.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

PMSL at "She is eligible for $1406.31 but there is one catch; she needs his death certificate to get the cash.  And even though they have been married for 60 years, there are some things her husband refuses to do."

Man some people at WINZ are idiots.  I've recently had first hand experience when I was helping MIL sort out her pension after her husband died.  The woman I dealt with was plain and simply thick and so caught up in procedural excuses that she didn't realise she actually made no sense at all.  I would have complained about her if I didn't think it would mean she'd be unwilling to help MIL.

LMAO Roksana so true. I also find half of them can't even speak clear English, I mean there job consists of talking on the phone and not much else you think they would hire someone who could actually be understood.

Hey my DP use to work at the WINZ contact centre!!...so I know for a fact that not all of their staff are duh...The majority of the letters are done and sent out automatically, not one person writing them up and sending them out, so it would have been a computer fault, sometimes even Government departments have their flaws lol. As for the CSRs taking the calls, of course you're not always going to get the best speaker, or most competent, many training CSRs are on the phones with a "buddy" overseeing the call and it definitely aint just talking on the phones...anyone who's ever worked in a call centre knows that. At winz  it is an extremely demanding job, very abusive, with little thanks. I know of some extremely horrendous stories that CSRs have had to deal with, I even know of one CSR being stabbed and killed by a client while walking to his car, totally at random but because he had his name badge on he was the target. So give them a break.
