Very rarely is it fatal and then its normally only if the children are already ill with something else that has reduced their immune system. I wouldn't get yourself worked up about it, just look out for any measle like rash and if concerned take her to the doc.
I had measles and german measles as a kid and neither made me any iller than having the flu.

Like the article said, sometimes it can lead on to other more serious things that come as complications of the infection process.
Mostly they are ok though.

My brother was immunised and still got measles when he was about 5, he was really, really sick with it and ended up in hospital but he was OK afterwards.

Hey, I am in Tauranga and my 20 month old daughter was dianogsed with Rubella (German Measels) yesterday. Another child at our daycare got it first and now my daughter has passed it on to my 10 week old baby!!!
It is more dangerous for him them my girl as she had her 15 month immunisations, which cover MMR.
It starts as little red spots all over the face and then moves to the body... they are generally unwell.

Ok Tauranga is soo close to home...I am a bit worried. Not re DD as she is Immunised! However I am not and I am pregnant and I know it is deadly to my baby.
Can you identify it in advance? what do they look like?
