This is one of the most fantastic things I have heard about happening in NZ in a long long time

This is so long overdue and so brilliant! Even if it changes the course for one child, one family- the social repercussions are just immeasurable.

I totally agree! So many problems seem to be so deep rooted from such a young age, this seems like something that could really work.

I had to laugh at this bit though:
Severe behaviour displayed by children as young as two included tantrums, swearing, yelling, hitting, kicking, talking back and refusing to share toys.

Apart from the swearing and kicking, most of the two year olds I've known have tried pretty much all of that on at one point or another!

Yeah thats Kate! (apart from the swearing- but I'm sure some of the things she comes out with are swearing in 1 year old ).

To me it makes far more sense stopping the behaviour before it starts rather than punishing people once they've already gone off the rails. Its so great!
