Update

"Jade Goody, a dental assistant turned reality-TV star whose whirlwind journey from poverty to celebrity to tragedy became a national soap opera and morality tale in Britain, has died. The 27-year-old had cancer and died in her sleep early Sunday at her home in Essex, southeast England, her publicist Max Clifford said."

very sad

I just read that on Stuff.

I think I will watch the doco as it will be interesting learning about the disease and what happens.

I have my smear test tomorrow.

You only pay your normal doctors fee, and once you've been you only need to go every 2 years.

Very sad. RIP Jane... My heart goes out to her and her family...xox

We pay $15 for a smear & the nurses do it not the DR....I know of some people that go to the STD clinic and get it done coz it's free...

So sad

Bex, its usually only $25 or $45 for the thin prep one, i had the thin prep one in November, we dont have a lot of $ either but smears are so so important, this sad story proves that.
Its definitly not $60 for a smear, give your dr a call and ask, its usually the nurse who does it anyways.
