I think blogs can be every helpful. You can by a cheap notebook (15c or so) & just write down all you eat the day, or do a spreadsheet ion the computer...make it easy & simple so you can stick to it.
Try sites like http://www.sparkpeople.com, http://www.myfitnesspal.com. they are free.
I think forums help if you want interactive involvement or a kick up the butt...but they don't work for all. I like the weight loss thread & chatting to the people in there.
There is no easy way to lose weight it is hard work & you get out what you put in, no quick fixes that work or last. Some like the group thing where others like to do it by themselves.
