Hi!

My mum has bought me a supply of the itti bitti tutto nappies, very cool!
I was having a play round with them and I can't work out how the inserts work for a NB on the smallest setting...I have been on youtube and have had a play around but the pad still seems to pop out the top at the front...
Don't know if it makes any difference but I am having a girl
If anyone can help with instructions or demos that would be great!

Thanks
Emma

Hi Emma,

You don't have to use all the tutto inserts at once. You might find just using the shortest insert with the little booster on the back all you need at the moment.

If you want to use all the inserts - snap them according to the colours (our you can swap them around, doesn't matter).

Put the booster onto the longest insert and then snap the long booster onto the booster at the shortest setting.

I hope that all makes sense!

For a new born, I'd do this.

Snap the cover up to the smallest setting.
Put the booster on the long bit & snap it to the shortest setting.
Snap insert (yellow) to front of cover (purple)
Tuck back of insert under elastic.

Now mine have been used a reasonable amount so this fits nicely, if yours are unwashed they won't have shrunk down yet.

NB's also don't wet that much so you won't need all the boosters, you could probably just use the short insert & the booster?

For a NB you can use the inserts for 2 (wet not soiled) nappy changes because they don't wee too much and you're changing them so regularly -
1 change: the short insert with booster attached,
2nd change: the long insert folded and snapped on the shortest setting.
I'd put the wider part of the insert at the front of the nappy for a boy and at the back for a girl.

As wetting increases you can start using both inserts with or without the booster.

And as AandCsmum said they will shrink down a bit as you wash them... And they fit better when they have to curve around a bum!

Thanks guys!

I didn't think about washing them first! I think this will be my job in December when I start my mat leave
I might wash one nappy and see how it all goes, so much to do so little time

Shame I don't have a wee bum to practice on...I don't think the dogs would co-operate, nor do I want their dirty hairy bums in my nice new nappies! hahah

Make sure you wash them several times (I think Itti Bitti recommend at least 3x) before using otherwise they won't absorb properly.

instead of doing several washes, another way is to soak them in water for 8 hours :)
