Topic: Pregnant with my third - and this time it's a boy! Posted: 10 April 2014 at 4:15pm |
My third baby is due Aug 27 - and at the anatomy scan, we found out that we're having a boy this time. I was so relieved! As much as I absolutely adore my two girls, I was a bit anxious about the idea of having 3 of them - especially as they got into their teenage years, since they're all pretty close together (my oldest is 3 and a half, my youngest just turned 1 last week). And I was worried for my poor fiance and just how outnumbered he'd end up!
But, oddly, once it had a chance to sink in a bit, I kind of just started to worry a little bit. Mostly because I wouldn't know what to do with a boy! I don't remember worrying much with my girls, if I ever worried at all - they were girls, they'd be fine. And I think it was easier on me because, y'know - I'm a girl too, so I at least had some idea of what to expect. But this time, I don't know how things work. I mean, what's the protocol, here? I feel kind of silly about it, it's not like gender should really make that much of a difference. But I've had more than one person comment on the differences between boys and girls, and I could only ever input on my experience with my girls - I honestly have no idea about boys!

Please don't worry!! I have one of each and my little man is far easier to play with and deal with. They're pretty basic creatures!!

Haha honestly, I find my girls to be pretty easy to deal with. Granted, they're hardly ever quiet (the older one, especially) - but other than that, I've never had any real complaints about either of them. Although, my mum reckons that of me and my siblings, my brother was the most laid back baby she could've possibly ever hoped for (sometimes a little too laid back). But then, if my little guy ends up too quiet and easygoing he might get overshadowed by his sisters lol.
I guess I'll try to keep an open mind, though. Who knows, maybe he'll end up being the loudest just to make up for being the youngest. ^_^

I have one of each and I really think you dont need to overthink it, sure the personalities are different but you get that with same sex siblings, the only real differences so far are boys clothes are boring lol and of course nappy changing is a different ball game, everyone tells you how they pee on you all the time, well mine didnt, you just gotta be more aware lol

Oh, well - were you hoping for a girl this time? But at least all boys will simplify things a bit. Plus there's always a chance the scan was wrong, maybe baby doesn't have a willy after all! Haha.
Good luck to you too, though - I imagine having 3 boys would be much like having 3 girls, at least in the sense that one of the parents ends up outrageously outnumbered haha. My mum-in-law had 2 sons and I think they (and her husband) sometimes forget that's she's definitely not a boy! She was so glad when she found out I was having a girl both times, she gets to do all of the girly things with them that she never got to do with her boys.

Aha, and oh boy, I've heard that you get peed on, too! My girls have only peed on me maybe once or twice their whole lives - and it's usually because I left the nappy off for a little bit too long, haha.
And I did notice that boy's clothes are a lot more subdued back when I first went shopping for baby's clothes. What's up with that? =/

I didn't realise how much we wanted a girl (we actually thought we didnt' care!) until we went to the scan yesterday and we've both been a bit flat since then. I was far more concerned that baby was just healthy but I am a bit gutted I won't EVER get to buy a pretty party frock or have mummy / daughter time. And it's definately a boy, it was so obvious! Typical boy (and the youngest at that) has to stick it right in our faces to make his point!

Haha, I totally get the whole 'stick it in our faces' thing - my girls were at least a tiny bit modest, my first even had her legs neatly crossed! But this one's got his legs spread wide like he's sitting in front of the telly with a beer in hand, willy just a-floatin'.
Who knows though, maybe one day your sons will go on to produce plenty of granddaughters for you! (when they're at an appropriate age to do so, of course!) :)

Every baby is a blessing of ALLAH but I know its a hard task for a mother to give birth by sacrificing her own health but don't worry and use a massage gun to maintain her health

Don't worry we know you were suffering from pain after giving baby birth. Learn Automatic Driving Lessons, get your kids in a car with your husband, and take them to a quiet place where your husband will care for babies.
