Well, I had my scan last week and it showed a blighted ovum (as you all probably know). I finally started bleeding today and I am really scared.
I remember what this week was like last time and I just really don't want to go through it again. The not knowing when I'll pass the clots is awful, and I have a funeral to go to on Saturday which is going to be really special and hard for me.... I'm worried that the worst might happen then. Last time, from the day I started bleeding, it took 5 days till I passed the clots, and Saturday is 5 days from today.
It's been 62 days since my last period started, so today would have been the day AF was due had I not got pregnant, so I am really just trying to tell myself it's just AF, it's just AF.... but I know what it's going to be like.
I'm feeling really down about this, and about losing my friend. I kind of feel like I am in a big black hole at the moment. Sucks.

Hugs Laurie! Would you consider having a d and c? Emotionally it might help you heal, it kind of makes it a more finite process, and it would help relieve some of your anxiety about Saturday.

Big hugs. It isn't nice. Be extra kind to yourself this week - lots of glossy magazines, time lying on the couch and chocolate! Sending you a HUGE hug.

Oh Laurie, I have no words to say what I want. Huge to you, take time just for you, look after yourself. It's such a horrible feeling (understatement).

Thanks everyone for all the hugs!
Emma, I tried to arrange a D&C but the earliest they could do it would be Monday next week, which doesn't really help me at all.
Guess I will just have to hope for the best! It's still really light, and brown spotting and hasn't become any heavier. Time will tell.

Hey guys,
Thanks again for all the words of support.
I went to hospital yesterday to have a D&C. Got there at 8am in the morning (having not eaten since dinner the night before) and waited there the whole darn day. They eventually sent me home at 8:30pm, having not had the procedure as too many more urgent cases came in. I was so starving and grumpy by the time I went home. Now there's a day of my life I will never get back again! It was so boring.....
Still scared of miscarrying tomorrow, but the bleeding is still really light so I am hoping it will hold off a bit longer.

Oh Laurie - that totally sucks that they kept you waiting (and unable to eat) all day! I know how bad it was for me waiting from 8am til 2:30 when I finally got called in to start getting ready for the D&C then I remember how hungry I was after I came out of recovery.
I hope that tomorrow goes well and the bleeding doesn't get too bad before MOnday - I started bleeding lightly on the Monday and didn't have D&C til the Friday.
Big cyber hugs to you chick, I'm thinking of you!
