Topic: Looking for an egg donor Posted: 09 January 2012 at 8:56am |
Hi. Never been to an on line forum before but feeling pretty low so it seemed a good place to get support. I've read many of the messages about people looking for an egg donor and feel really guilty in my request. We went through years and years of trying to adopt, unsuccessful IVF treatment and finally sought an egg donor. We have two beautiful children after using 17 embryos - it's been a hell of a journey with 3 miscarriages - having the latest now from our very last embryo. I feel guilty as I have gained so much joy and fulfillment from having my two children and I read the stories of people still trying to have their first, and my heart and hopesgo out to you, but I yearn for a larger family, We have so much love to give. So to achieve this we need another egg donor. A big ask but does anyone know anyone that may be able to help us. I believe if it is meant to be it will happen and I guess that's what has kept me going all these years. Tnakyou for reading - pretty emotional at the moment due to this miscarriage so any support would be so helpful.

if so have you discussed this with your own partner / husband if you have one as wont presume as no mention here.
If so whats his thoughts, and or your own GP may have others that may have mentioned to help with been a Egg donor? However all referred to specialists any way.....do know a woman went to GP for help to Adopt, they also knew of woman who want to give up a child, she adopted twice form same person that way, all Legal etc.( Their testimony on line in NZ) She was rejected often just because of her weight)
and getting professional Council, as can see you have tried very hard and covered all things, not a lot more one can do or add really, as you have simply done all you can.
Great you have 2 lovely wee ones to focus on.
Do you think its letting go time? As its as hard as it is, it is also :Healthy to know when to let go "no?, but may not be as so to desperately hold on, which is very normal, ( I don't mean never try again, just let go have a good break re-focus etc ) "As you say you have pleasure now in what you have now".
Hard for anyone to say anything, other than show sympathy. Hang in there -:)

Is there a possibility of going back to your original egg donor???
Huge hugs on the miscarriages, have you got good friends that you can talk about it with, that certainly helped me.

have you tried somewhere like http://nz-surrogacy.com/, whilst it was originally setup for surrogacy they also have egg donors, sperm donors (that's where I met mine) and couples going thru many varied and long journeys, you never know you may find your match

Another option, if it is financially viable for you, is to go to San Diego (can be arranged through Fertility Associates)and pay for a donor in the States, I think the cost is about $40K but a lot of people I know have done this and they have come back pregnant.

Thanks for info re surrogacy site - have now registered. Re San Diego not sure we can stretch to that cost, but then again what price do you put on a life so I guess anything is possible. Thanks for remindin g me re that option - had been looking at places in LA - can't get over how dofferent it is there with a catalogue of people to chose from and a nice price tag to go with it!

I don't have anything to add that the others haven't, but since you said you wanted support, wanted to say that I'm so sorry you're going through yet another miscarriage. You pin so many hopes on each transfer that it must be hell, especially with your last embryo. Big hugs.
(I also don't think that any of us should be making suggestions about it being 'time to let go' - to be sure, sometimes it is, but you didn't ask about that and it's such a personal thing that I just don't think it's anyone's place to suggest it unless they know you really well. So not as if I'm in a position to say it or anything, but um, sorry if that added to what must be a really emotional time for you right now).

Hi there, I just joined. Im not sure if this is still being used. My husband and myself are also looking for an egg donor. We have been ttc since April this year and nothing so we decided to get help and went to Fertility Associates. Long story short I dont have as many eggs as I used to and theyre not good quality.
Ive been reading up on egg donors and what to do and Ive seen that they are far and few between. This is very stressful for us and hopefully its changed a bit since 2012. We have an appointment on the 15 Feb next year so we can get the show on the road and in the meantime we are hoping and praying that it happens naturally.
Just a note. Im not pregnant or due in 3 days as the picture under my name states. I just wasnt sure how to cancel it.

Egg donation is the boon for those who cannot conceive with their own eggs or sperms. You can get egg donor from India also that are available at very low cost.

If you are open to travel, can recommend these sites: fertilityclinicsabroad com and eggdonationfriends com with wide range of stats, prices, treatment time, legal issues on fertility clinics worldwide. Hope you will find them useful.
