Topic: I dont think I have EVER been so ANGRY! Posted: 22 April 2007 at 10:37am |
I just noticed that my new(ish) $3000 lounge suite has ballpoint pen and crayon all over it If she was a toddler I would blame myself for not supervising her with the pens, not having a cover on the couch etc. but she's FOUR! She soooo knows better! I am so angry!
I just took her box of crayons and felts and emptied it into the rubbish bin, and now she is sobbing her little heart out which makes me feel awful. But if she's been told once she's been told ten thousand times that pens are for using on her red table and NOT on my couch - and when I asked her why she did it she said she ran out of paper
Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Nope, it was absolutely her - probably last night when she was sitting up watching Austin Powers coz Daddy fell asleep and didn't put her to bed
Honestly, I could strangle the lot of them!

Ohhhh no Emma! That sucks!!!
Hope like hell you can figure some way of cleaning it.
Hate that they have to push the boundaries all the time... surely by now they would realise that it only gets them in trouble!!!

Worth a try Amber, thanks - I hadn't thought of that. I'm pretty sure Yummymummy is right on the money tho and I'm going to have to end up getting it professionally cleaned. I'm just gutted coz I keep covers on the couches to keep them clean and she drew on the one spot where the cover had slipped

it will be covered by insurance. so maybe get them to look at it first before you try to remove the stain. Then thatway if it cant be removed at least you will have a new couch!

Nooooo - even I am not quite that tacky. I have some of those big calico cover thingies, I had them for the old couch coz it was so grotty I didn't want people to see it, and now I use it on the new one so the kids don't destroy it.
Good point about the insurance Maria, altho I suspect they would not be happy to hear from me. In the last 12 mths they've replaced my computer (when Miss Maya tipped water all thru the keyboard) and all the stuff out of my car when it was stolen

I sponge our suede couch gently with warm soapy water - however I have never (yet) had to try and remove ball point pen or crayons. Good luck!!
