I popped into Countdown at lunchtime and they have those Watties 'very special' soups and stews on special 2 for $5 for the ones in bowls or cheaper for the ones in cans. Bought four bowls, makes for cheap, relatively healthy lunches :) The ones I bought have 1.5 servings of veges in each. Mmm yum!

Are you guys drinking coffee? i know we are allowed a cup or two a day depending on strength but I gave up completely last pregnancy but having trouble his time, can't get going without a coffee!

I gave up all caffienated drinks (tea/coffee/coke etc) at Christmas time due to migraines, at first I thought it helped with them, now I am not so sure. But, it meant that I was off all caffiene when we were TTC and now when pregnant, I don't actually miss it! I've even gone off decaf!!

I have given up caffeine as well. Well almost, sometime I have half a cup of coffee on the weekend. But for me I think it's easier to totally give it up than to try to limit myself!

I think with the coffee thing its more of a habit "morning coffe" my midwife said sometimes decaf coffee can be more harmful than normal coffee because of the chemicals they use to make it decaf, but you can get decaf coffe that is made decaf by a water system which is really safe for you and honestly its pretty strong, cant tell that its decaf.

I'm from an italian family and am desperatley missing proscuitto, coppa, salami and all my other cold meats!!! its going to be my first meal after birth, just a huge massive handfull of proscuitto stuffed down my throat!!! lol my mouth is watering now :(

I am usually caffeine free (one cup of coffee makes me crazy!) but I have been craving coke every now and again - but I'll only get through 50-100ml a day.

I am really struggling to eat, I'm really only getting carbs down and my fridge is the emptiest it had been since we went on holiday last. Most of what is in there is old vegetables and cheese (an early craving)

I am looking forward to when we get the inlaws old upright freezer, then if I cook something and can't eat it,i can freeze it.

I am trying to have at least one kiwi crush a day (I have it as an ice block) as the progesterone had some yucky side effects.

I always stop my coffees the day I find out I'm pregnant & don't have any again until baby is about 6mths.

Can we have cream cheese like in icing on carrot cake? I'm dreaming on carrot cake for my bday next month!

Cream cheese is fine as long as it is eaten fresh. I think they recommend within a day or two of opening. I personally don't trust it out in cafes etc but if I have it at home myself and know how fresh it is I'm happy with that.

Fine. I would eat a chicken burger from them as well. They always seem to have high standards, and the main thing with meat is that it's cooked right through.

Lurker in - but in theory, even soft cheeses are OK in NZ if you eat them straight from the packet. Just not when they've sat round for a day (in or out of the fridge). I still wasn't brave enough to eat brie etc, but that was my own over-cautiousness rather than actually being based on anything.

Sushi was the worst for me. You can never get all the flavours at once when you make it yourself.

further to my question about Burger Fuel... their website says this about their aoli:
Fresh egg yolk, crushed garlic and canola blended into a thick creamy mayonnaise. Made daily and free from artificial flavours, additives or preservatives.
Used on all burgers and as an accompaniment for the Spud and Kumara fries which are cooked in fresh clean canola oil.

So I guess i'll have to ask for no aoli :( stupid raw eggs!
Can you tell, I really want burger fuel!

Hopes - My midwife told me the same thing as long as the soft cheese is a New Zealand cheese - Not imported - it is safe as long as you eat it fresh straight from the packet.

dottydot - with takeaway places I am quite happy to order what I want but I always say "I am pregnant so can you please make sure my meal is fresh, cooked well and has no raw egg" the bugerfuel down the road from me were amazing when I ordered, asked me about every single ingredient, and because I took some off my burger they offered to add something else on in place of it, they also asked me to check the chicken was cooked to my satisfaction. - They should pay me for this kind of advertising LOL
